Norco Addiction

Ok everyone i have never used this website before but have been looking through it so i though I would post a question and hopefully get some feed back......I have been taking norco off and one for about 2 years but everyday for about 8 months! in Janurary I was diadnosed with chrons disease which is a very painful stomach disease while I was in the hospital for 3 weeks i was on constant IV meds of diluadad and in between those doses i would get norco well when i finally got discharged i was given norco for the pain and have been taking them everyday since. I have a pain contract with my dr where i get 70 pills a week which is 10 a day... sometimes i will take form 10-15 a day and when i am out i have horriabl horriable withdrawls where i can barley get out of bed and i feel like i am dying! i really dont want to take them anymore but i just cant handle the withdrwls. my friend just recently quit taking them and her dr perscribed her methadone and i took one of hers just to see how they made feel and if i maybe want to talk to my dr about and surprisinly enough they helped me with my w/d and didnt make me feel high at all so my question to yu gys is there any tricks to getting through the w/d and how do u guys feel about methadone?????

PLEASE dont use methadone!! This is an extremely powerful med, that is intended for a maintenance program for people using much stronger opiates such as heroin. Methadone is a million times harder to quit than hydro!! Search methadone withdrawl symptoms and how long they last and you will see for yourself!!!

Hi & Welcome,

Are you considering Methadone for pain relief or for withdrawal?

Hello! Welcome to the forum...I am pretty new here, too! I quit cold turkey off of Vicoprofen over a month ago and I can tell you it was *ell for about 3 to 4 days but it got better day by day.....I would not suggest Methadone, dont really know too much about it but from what I have heard,it is just as hard to get off of as the Hydrocodone, maybe even harder! It to me is just trading one drug for another,in a sense. I know if you stay on a taper plan with the Methadone it may help, but you have to stick with it and take only as prescribed.
I will tell you withdraws are def. do-able! It is very scary to think about feeling as bad as you have felt those "few" days without any (between refills)...but believe me IT IS WORTH IT!!!! Our bodies are trying to rid us of all of the toxins we put in it,so really I think of it as payback...I did it to myself and I have to face the result of my actions!
There are so many different methods on here that suggest different types of vitamins, amino acids,etc...so look into that...it may help! I wish you the best of luck, and please let me know how you are doing! You can do this, just put your mind to it!! Buggie1978
