Thanks to both of you for posting to me. I have cravings but not to the point in the past where I wanted to use. But the pain I am experiencing is not fun and this is making me think of taking.......just one pill for relief. I have taken OTC meds by the boat load. Last night I took nothing and was up all night in pain. Though the pain was the same as when I took OTC meds. I do have to say that hearing that there was some relief after a couple more weeks helps. I just need to feel there is some hope?
I can even deal with the depression if i can have some relief. One poster told me to talk with my doc about toradol. That might be an option prn.
Thanks
Drew
I was in so much pain 6 weeks after I quit a pain med I took for headaches that I went to my doctor convienced that I had something terribly wrong with me. I could not fathom that I could be in that much pain from drug withdrawal Im talking about pain ALL over. My legs, arms, fingers, head..everywhere. I could barely walk. My doc did all kinds of tests and nothing showed up. After 2 months, 80 percent of the pain was gone. Now at 4 months, I still get stiff and feel some pain, but it keeps getting better. Hang in there, it will pass.
Hi Drew,
Nice job in pushing through! The rebound pain stinks, but it does get better. I dont have back pain, but mouth and shoulder pain. I take naprosyn (like aleve) and my pain is now at a managble level. The nap helps more than opiates ever did.
Do you have the option to talk to Dr. and ask for a non narcotic pain releiver? Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.
