Hi Katiie, here is a link to a journal I came across yesterday.  Maybe it will help put things into better perspective.  I wish you the best, honey...

Hi katiie, what about a detox clinic, but you need to do it now and fast. Ive seen first hand, previous friends children due to smoking pot while pregnant. The children are hyperactive and cannot be settled, they have been diagnosed with a.d.d. and are behind at school. All drugs are bad during pregnancy but pot has to be one of the worst.

Its confusing what your asking of everyone on the forum. You wont go to a doctor, is this because your afraid you will be reported, or afraid of him telling you how it is.  He cant report you anyway. Your obviously ashamed because you wont seek help with the people that matter. You need to look at the big picture, your relaxation and hapiness, or giving your baby the best start in life.

You say you have another child you smoked with while pregnant, do you not feel slightly guilty your doing it the 2nd time around. You need help and more importantly your baby needs help. I have been where you are ( not pot ) and I got on subutex while pregnant and I thank god everyday he was ok.  I was monitored 3 times a week. But you refuse to be a doctor. Sounds like your being very selfish to this poor baby.

I am in no way judging you, im trying to force you to do what is right amd make you realise, at the moment all your decisions and welfare for bubby are backwards. Please see a doctor and seriously think about detoxing now. I wish you nothing but luck, and hope that little baby will be ok.

As Nursegirl stated, there  are many known and unknown risks to smoking marijuana while pregnant. This is an addiction forum for people who are in recovery, or wish to quit taking drugs. Until you are ready to quit, then I'm not sure there is much we can do for you. Please at least be honest with your doctor about this. You're not just harming yourself here. You have your baby to think about. I hope that you see the proverbial light very soon and decide to seek help for your addiction. When you're ready, we'll be here. Best of luck to you and your children.

I am not judging you, but I will be bold and say that you absolutely need to consult a doctor regarding this, not for your own health, but please, for the sake of your unborn baby.  If there is anytime in your life that it matters most it's when you could potentially be affecting the health of an innocent child who has no choice in the matter.  It's not just about you and what you have done, are doing, or what you think is right or wrong...you need to step up and do the right thing...consult your doctor about your situation and ask them for help and guidance as to how you should treat the situation.  Please PLEASE talk to a doctor...there is another human being that is being directly Impacted by your choices.

You've got to understand that when someone comes on the forum, and they start off by saying "no judging", well, that sends up a lot of red flags.
As Nursegirl has said, it sounds like you've already formed an opinion about smoking while pregnant, and now you're just looking for others to support that view. This isn't the place. We are here if you need help, to offer advice and support, but we will tell it like it is, and what you're doing is wrong.
See your doctor, tell him/her everything, and get a professional opinion. Your children should come first, but as with most practicing addicts, they rarely do.

You seem to already have your mind made up that smoking MJ while pregnant is okay and harmless.  You also won't talk to your doctor, which you need to do.  Doctors need to be kept informed about what's going on in a pregnancy in order to keep Mom and baby safe.

The facts are, it's NOT safe, and while you may have not seen any obvious issues with your daughter (yet), there are most definitely risks.  See here:

http://pregnancy-safety.info/products/view/Marijuana

Also, little is know about long term effects on children whose mother used MJ while pregnant, there are studies which indicate that MJ could cause cognitive and behavioral issues down the road.

You can try to convince yourself that what you're doing is okay, but I think the fact that you posted here says that you're not really sure, and it's something you ARE worried about, which is a good thing.

You have to safeguard that baby, which means smoking pot should just not be an option for you while pregnant.

Good luck to you.
