Off of Xanax

I did not take Xanax for 7 days, and did not expect detox at my 5mg. dose.
Among other things, I feel tingly - as when circulation returns to a limb which was "asleep" .  I would like to know if this is from detox.  Also, I would like to get off Zanax, what is a good protocal for a 5mg daily dose?

very strange things happen when you d/c xanax cold turkey...especially at that dose. 5mg may not sound like much, but xanax is VERY potent as compared to valium. it's not wise at all to d/c cold turkey at that dose and who knows how long the withdrawal will last....if thats even what you're experiencing. you need to talk to your doc.

Hi~  5mg per day is a hefty dose. You need to taper very slowly. Get with the prescribing doctor for a good taper plan.  It's the best way. Benzo withdrawal is nothing to fool with...

I can't speak to the tingly feeling...it could be almost anything!!
