One Month and NOT feeling better !!!

Hi Everyone!!

So this is about the one month mark for me off of Vicodin ES 7.5/750mg . I was taking upwards of 20 a day for about 8 years....  I did a VERY fast taper and to be honest the W/D's were not that bad at all... I listened to music and kept myself busy... The hardest part was mental for me.... The cravings and lack of energy mostly and the stomach ache but the later I can live with....

Anyhow, I didn't count the days so I am guessing I am at the 4-5 week mark... Anyhow, I was taking .25 to .50mg of xanax a day to deal with the anxiety and I have decided to stop taking those as well..  I am not sure if they were a mental crutch or if they really did halp curb the anxiety...  I do have a lot of stress in my life right now and the xanax helped to take the edge off of it and let me focus on the things I need to do however, I have an addictive personality and don't want to fall into being addicted now to xanax....

my question is this.... about how long does it take for the xanax to get out of my system, even though I was not taking much... I tapered from about 1.5 mg a day to .25 mg a day and today I am not taking any.....

I dont feel to great mentally and really want to crawl into bed and watch tv all day but, have to work.....I just feel really down right now and not sure if it is the effects of the vicodin w/d still hitting me or now the xanax w/d.......

Any and all help would be great..... You were all so instrumental in my Vicodin withdrawl that I can't thank you enough...

Much Love,
Tracy

It is very possible that you are not feeling well do to the Xanax. I would skip a day and take .25 every other day a couple of times then jump off. You have done good to taper off them. I would also suggest exercise and a good vitamin, supplement regiment. Amino acids too. Look in the Health Pages for the amino acid protocol found near the top right of page.

thank you both for your fast responses.... I did really well with getting off the Vicodin... I fully expected to have the loss of energy and cravings that have continued for the past month but, I have fought them well and know that I will not be seeking anymore Vicodin... I made myself hate that drug, and good!!  But, the xanax I feel since I only take the .25mg once a day, is such a small dose but, helpful with my anxiety.. The only problem is that at 33 years old I never struggled with anxiety, I was always very ahppy go lucky until the Vicodin addiction... I am very ready to take nothing and quite frankly almost out of xanax and have no way of getting more and really dont want to..

I think one of the things that scares me is the thought that I could have seizures from going off the xanax, but, can I coming off of .25mg a day?

You did wean yourself down and you are at a very low dose. Not to mention havent been on it for a long amount of time. You should be ok but maybe call your doctor and ask just to be on the safe side.
