stuck on percocete help

I have been takeing percs for a little under a year now. Im trying to go cold turkey off them. The issue is i do not have time to sit home to detox due to the fact i work. Today is only day one but i already feel like crap.  I just want to get off these pills and be normal again. If anyone can help me in anyway please let me know. Thank you.

Okay...At least you see the error of your ways and admit you have a problem..it's the first step to recovery.  I would suggest after the detox ends that you research some kind of after care.  NA/AA, addictions counselling, therapy.  You need to get to the bottom of why you were using in the first place.  Be kind to yourself and good for you for reaching out...Let us know if you need anything....Lu

Hi and Welcome to the forum...And Happy New Year!  What a good way to start it-good for you.  The detox process takes 5-7 days (the bad part) depending on what your dosage and length of use was.  Look up the Thomas Recipe if you haven't already.  I am 27 days clean and found it really helped.  Stay hydrated with whatever you can hold down.  Bananas are great for RLS. You are going to be sick and I know most people who go through this and have to work pass it off as the flu.  Immodium will be your best friend-make sure you get some.  Remember it takes awhile to normalize-you didn't get here overnight and you won't get back.  One moment at a time.  You didn't mention if you were taking percs prescribed for pain or not...So getting clean is one thing-staying clean is the hard part.  Hang around the forum and post as much as you need to.  Here to support....Lu

Yeah the first few days are rough. I had to work my first six days! Some people cant afford to take time of work for anything. Drink lots of water and no greasey foods. You need to detox your system. Don't nap during the day because you won't sleep at night. Take ibuprofen or advil. It will get better good luck!
