OxyContin problem

I just recently started taking OxyContin 10 mg not prescribed to me. I have been taking it 20 mg a day every second day for about a month now I have some bad digestive problems and was wondering if this is normal I have stopped taking it for two weeks and still have incredible pain in my intestines i've never taken more than 30 mg in a day??
Was wondering if it is caused by taking OxyContin or if it's an infection I have in my intestines?

I have been prescribed many different opiates over the years for chronic pain and illness.  Oxycontin, though not the strongest, wreaked the most havoc on my body and brain.  In fact, both times my doctor switched me to it I went cold turkey off of large doses of it because I knew I was in trouble.  It made me high and changed my personality.  The number one thing was stomach pain, it really really hurts I know.
Try drinking warm fluids and not cold.  Sip peppermint tea, chamomile tea with honey.
I would suggest some vitamins and minerals to rebuild the body/brain
Omega 3 Fish oil
Vitamin C ascorbate
Vitamin B6 B12
Vitamin D
Lots of fluids and exercise will really help you out.

i had the same effects from oxycontin.  the 'new' formula is actually illegal in other countries, but it is good enough for us, i guess.

it contains 2 very cancer causing toxins.  that is what keeps people from crushing, chewing, shooting it, etc.  they DO cause digestive problems.

your best bet is to stay away from them and never take them again.  the longer you are on them, the worse it gets

Oxy in any form slows down your digestive tract.  Basically puts it to sleep.  When you stop, it comes roaring back to life and the pain and cramps can be severe.

Please, stop using this drug.  Opiates will wreck you life, and I'm NOT exaggerating.   You will end up in the worst hel.l. you've ever imagined.   Just get OFF them...you can read on here all about the withdrawal symptoms.  YOu haven't used that long, so you might get away with feeling normal in a month or so.  Any longer than that, and you're just playing Russian roulette with your mind, body, and sense of well being.

Again...READ.   Learn what these drugs to you.  And be smart.  You only get one life..don't screw it up.

Good luck...

It sounds to me like withdrawal. Oxy is very potent. Your body is used to it. It doesn't take long to form a physical dependency. My advice would be to see a doctor and be honest about what you have done just to be safe. I think the more important issue is why you started using drugs when you were not prescribed them. I mean, all of us here are asking ourselves that question, too. It isn't just you. But you need to start thinking about it. When I quit norco, my stomach didn't get right for a long time. I would imaging Oxy is much, much worse. A 30 mg oxy would keep me pretty euphoric all day. Is that why you were taking them, or do you have diagnosed pain?

Either way, if you stick around, you will learn a lot from these men and women. Please stay and someone will know more about Oxy and give you the right answer.
