Oxycontin Detox= Thomas Recipe= Day 7 :( ?

Day 7 on the "Thomas Recipe" for Oxycontin Detox. and for some reason I feel worse - so weak and fatigued and not much sleep even w/ valium.  I thought the L-T = more energy, etc... ????

I tried 1500mg, 2000mg & skipped them today. Not sure about the 4000mg dosage as I can't get the B6 100mg here - Just the "B" Complex supplements...for absorbtion.

I was only on 2 X 20mg of Oxycontin  a day + 10mg Oxynorm if needed for a year for chronic pain.
I reduced dosage over a month before I went cold turkey...

Trapped in Turkey so can't get the suboxen or-------- & can't fly to USA in this state!

I force myself to get up and do a short walk every day. But now think I will do every other day. I eat what I can.  I'm lucky as I am not having the leg cramps hardly at all that was to be so bad - BUT I always eat 2-3 Bannana's a Day - so that is prob. why = Potassium.

The nights are worse - & I never did sleep well anyway...

The body seems to be aching for relief and like a hollow inside at times.
My Back disk problems has flaired up so battling that too w/o pain pills.

Please keep the feedback coming - Especially re: day 7 & = so weak *****

CAN I DO IT ON THE THOMAS RECIPE ??????

Kind Regards & God Bless you all !!!!!

tyrsosine worked for me but not until a month or so had passed..it builds up and is not an instant cure for wds..nothing is..in combo with phenylalanine it works much better as they potentiate each other....both are cheap at bulk nutrition and the powdered form is graat mixed with emegenc...some benefit from an AD after detox as well....have u tried the 5htp at night?   benzos will bring u down and cutting those out asap is always good for energy...dont give up...get ur heart rate up and exercise again..this will pass and endorphins will return

Sometimes I can't get over the strength and sheer will everyone here has. Even those that want to get off so badly and try so hard. Because even trying is a huge step and takes alot of will power. That one day when someone says, I can't do this anymore, I have to try to stop...That's a scary thought to have when you've been using them for so long. And it takes alot of strength to not brush that thought aside and just let the addiction convince you you don't need to stop.
These pills and other drugs are strong but human will is stronger. I've seen these drugs and pills gobble up my family hole and spit them back out only to gobble them up again.

And I'm so proud of every person that even has the desire to get off. I just wish my fam could find that desire inside themselves.

And to taper or cold turkey yourself, it's by far one of the hardest things to do. Not that those who go to detox and rehab deserve less koodos, def not. Walking through a door where you know your once best friend can't follow...that's scary and just as difficult in itself.

Anyway, sorry for the run on.

In regards to your post mercedes, I understand your thoughts. Not to want to go out and spend the money on something that's not going to work or make you really feel better.
But in all honesty, without having done the reciepe myself, all these vitamins and amino acides are very good for your body and some that your body has been missing for a long time because of the drugs and not nessesarily eating right and exersizing. Refueling your body can start to make you feel stronger and help your body battle the physical withdrawls.

I'm sure that there is a bit that's psychological. But there's nothing wrong with that. Anything that helps is something that's worth a try. I know if I were going through withdrawls and someone told me chocolate would help, I'd go and get it. Because the power of the mind is extreamly unending when it comes to helping yourelf overcome physical suffering.
So my point being who cares what it is that helps, as long as it makes a difference to you in helping you get through then it's worth the time and money to try it.
At least in MHO.

I have been there & done that . After abot 10 days i started to get my strength back slowly and now ive been off the oxys since June 1st 08  6 full months & now i dont even think about them .  It actually  was a month before i became my old self .  I too had back problems & still have  just  not as bad  now .  seems the brain takes control  after sometime & does what the pain pills do so the pain isnt as bad as i expected afterwards. Hang in there & keep  rembering that 7 days ago was the first day of the rest of your life without opiates

I am curious too as to the Thomas Recipee vs. normal excericise/eating right.  I think it says alot that you eat banannas and your legs are getting better...try eating meats and more protein..I believe that is where the aminos come from..I would trust those sources more than a bottle from a health food/drug store.  I know I may sound cynical but before I go out buying all these vitamims/minerals I would like to hear more on if they really make a difference or just alittle better..which (now don't blast me people) are you sure isn't just your mind telling you its better..we feel like we need to do something so taking vitamins makes us feel better or do they actually really make a difference.  I think this posters response is honest.

I do believe however that you are amazingly close to the end of the worst my friend..day 7 is awesome. Hang in there...don't give up...Pray to God..and know we are rooting for you.

In  the U.S  vitamins and such are passed by the FDA for sales in stores if they contain atleast 10%   of what is labeled on the bottle.   For example,, you got to walmart to buy vitamin D. As long as it contains 10% vitaminD they can sell it.  It made me pretty upsest to learn that. I know there are different qualities of stuff being sold, but 10% of the bestquality vitamin and the rest is fillers and crap is nothing. Your throwing ur money away. Now. "good" health food stores will sell better quality vitamins and minerals but they are alot more expensive. You get what you pay for.... There is a vitamin called Alive tthat sell in walmart and also in. Good health food shops that have the exact same packaging but the walmart vitamin is way more inferior in quality..   It doesnt seem legal, but it is.  Eating organic foods is the best way to get what you need.

I also wanted to add a congratulations on 7 days that is awesome.. I also have not used the Thomas recipe as I have stage 2 liver and can not tolerate the vitimans.. What worked for me was dragging me butt out of the house everyday.. I did not feel like it but exercise air and a change of scenery I believe is responsible for how good I feel today.. I hope your pain lessens as you move further away from your addiction mine has.  It took me 8 day's to finally pass out from my wd so you should find some sleep soon. There are natural products that may help Melatonin and Valerian Root... I wish you well.. lesa

I've never done the Thomas Recipe myself but I do know that regardless of doing it withdrawls aren't going to be easy. It just helps make them a little more tolerable. And because everybodies Body is different everyone has a differnt expereince with it, at least a little.

Being on day 7 is so awsome and your almost done. The fatigue and weakness lasts the longest because your body went through so much stress while being on the meds and getting off. Even if you take meds as directed they still have a huge effect on your system when you go off because opioids take the place of your natural bodies balance and chemicals in the brain that produce happiness and that natural feeling of well being like endorphins.

But walking will only help no matter how tired you are because exersize is going to help your body start to reproduce those naturally occuring chemicals and hoemones that the meds ahev been replacing.

Once your body begins to produce them again you'll begin to have more energy and not feel so weak. You'll even start to feel good in a way you haven't in so long.

Hang in thereyour doing great. Only a little longer to go and you'll strat to begin to feel better everyday.
It's hard to get off pain pills addicted or not because the body becomes dependant on them and you should be proud of yourself because your winning the battle against your bodies desire to just be given that medication. That;s a huge desire biologically, addicted or not.

I'm sure you'll get tons of feedback. Keep hanging in their. Don't get discuraged, your almost over the last humo that can be the worst.'
Keep walking and resting when you can, your body will thank you soon!
