My friend is on her way to me to help her detox

My best friend has been using Oxy and Roxy's for 18 months now (I am just finding out) -- she has been snorting them and has weened herself to taking half of what she did.  She is coming over tonight (we are leaving kids her with my husband and going to another friends home -- so no children) so I can stay with her for the next 4-5 days to detox.  I am not sure what to expect, what symptoms might be a sign I need to call 911 and how to help her.  Any advice would be appreciated.  I am so scared for her and I am an emotional wreck right now.....I want to help her though.

Wow what a great friend you are, she is so lucky to have you.Addicts do and say crazy things when they detox.So dont take it to heart.Myself , i tend to get very physically sick throwing up too,.5 days is enough to get her part way, realistaclly most of the worst should be over but it really takes alot out of you,and she wont be completely right for awhile, It just makes you feel like your going to die.But you wont.Im going thru it right now and i just went and got most of the Thomas recipe.Good luck...You are an awesome friend..

Thanks to both of you.  I pulled up the Thomas Recipe on line and took notes on all. She will be here in 2 hours...then we will go shopping for all that we need.  I really appreciate the support and will be sure to have my laptop with me!!  God Bless You.

Look up the Thomas Recipe, Its all over the counter meds/vitamins you can get to help her out with some of these symptoms. They won't take them away completely, but they will help. Good Luck, your a good friend.

As long as she is just detoxing from opiates, then you wont need to ever call 911. Symptoms to expect are as follows:

Chills/hot/cold sweats;
Achy muscles;
extreme fatigue;
diarriah (I cannot spell that, lol);
sneezing;
Insomnia;
restless legs/arms;
anxiety;
muscle spasms;
weak;
no appetite;
depression/crying alot;

That is basically what she will go through, give or take some, as all addicts aren't the same and dose and length of use does make a difference.
