Pentazocine

I am trying to get off of hydrocodine pills for headaches. I have gotten a little too used to taking them I think and I don't want to go down that road.  A friend suggested Pentazocine. I have never heard of it? Can someone explain. I am sure I will see a doctor, but before I made an appointment, I was just curious.

it is like talwin..a synthetic narcotic..it is still habit forming tho

I've never heard of Pentazocine, but maybe someone else on here knows of it.  Is it for headaches or for withdrawals?  You could probably look it up on www.drugs.com.  That might give you some insight into the kind of medication it is.  Just a thought.
