Percocet Addiction 2 yrs Bowel Problems Withdrawl

Hi, I am new to the post. I too like many others are a mother that got hooked after the birth of my last child over 2 yrs ago. I am trying to get off percocet but my stomach hurts so bad when I start to withdrawl, I feel like my bowels or insides are really affected. Ove rthe past year I take 3 to 5 a day! The year before that it was 20 one month, maybe 30 the next occasionally & I didn't really experience any withdrawl symptoms. Now since I take them everyday I stop for a day or so & feel all the withdrawl symptoms, the worst is I feel like I have to kick my legs every couple seconds for hours & sometimes my arms-I know that sound crazy. I am wondering if anyone else is having stomach, bowel related problems as well. Thanks

Your bowel problems that you are experiencing are from stopping the percocets. When you begin to withdrawal off a pain medicine your body goes out of wack. You experience many w/d symptoms. One of them is bowel problems, such as stomach cramps, diareah, etc. It can also take a while for your bowels to get back to normal after detoxing. My doctor had given me bentyl for the stomach crampsand, bowel problems with my w/d's. I also had IBS on top of that. The kicking your arms and legs is restless leg syndrome. That was my first symptom I would get if I stopped taking my pain medicine for a day or too also. I remember I thought I had rhemitiod arthritis. RLS is a very common w/d symptom. It usually happens at night. Your not crazy, what your experiencing is classic w/d symptoms!

I was taking Tramadol 50 mg about 35 per day for about 2 years. I had the same symptoms you are describing. I had to quit CT on 08/21/08 you can read my post on busted for the second time with a fake RX. I went to the health food store and bought a body cleanse kit. Apparently the reason for my stomach and bowel problems was because I was so backed up. Not to be gross but sometimes I would not have a bowel movement for a week, and when I did it looked like rabbit turds. Obviously this is very bad for your colon to have all that **** staying in there. The cleanse was a 2 week process and every day I started to feel a little bit better, I even lost weight, (lol). My legs and arms stopped feeling that way also. Don't get me wrong it did not happen over night but you will get back to normal.
