Someone please tell me this will be over soon!

I certainly don't mean to "Bogart" this forum but I feel horrible at 11days off. No sleep, losing weight, heart palps, chest feels like its burning, depression/anxiety and the list goes on.

I know these are all wd symps and realize I'm just beginning to heal but I sure could use some encouragement right about now.

Here's the strange thing. Day 4 I was sitting on the couch feeling bad when all of a sudden I could feel the darkness begin to lift. 30 mins later I was out the door singing a song headed to the store to buy oil for the car. I walked down those isles with no pain, no anxiety and I was happy to be alive. That was a week ago and it has gone downhill ever since. Is that normal during this process?

I'm now thinkIng 30 days is more realistic for this. Thanks for listening.

Everything you are feeling is normal!! I am at day 54 and still have lingering depression and anxiety. It comes and goes- sometimes within an hour I can be shifting moods. Other times I can be good for days to a week. Lack of sleep hits hard- now that drove me insane. I believe that a lot of W/D symptoms are lack of sleep- which affects everything!! I finally went to the doctor and got something for sleep and I am feeling so much better!!  It's worth just trust me on that!  7 year opiate habit gone, kicked to the curb!! I was so tired of fighting a "pill!!!". Remember all these posts on here that you have done if you ever forget why you stopped. You will find the "real" you soon. Hang tough :-)

don't waiver now. I to had some good early day's, and than the heaviness of the withdrawal was wearing me down..take some vitamans, I used benedryl to sleep. I really felt it was tougher to get through he depression and anxiety .than the acute withdrawal. I just could not see an end in sight. but hang in another week and you'll be through the worst. I definately feel your pain. it's so worth it on the other end. CONGRATS on day 11

Vicki is quite right! I stopped drinking vaccine drinks around day 5 and started eating way healthier! Exercise as much as you can!! That has helped me most of all. I forced myself to exercise starting on day 3. Now I walk at least and hour a day, if not more! You can do this!!! You're doin so well!!! Keep on going!

Absolutely, at day 5 or 6 for me, I was on top of the world, almost forgot I was an addict for over 5 years. Always around days 12-20,your brain decides what it has been doing to get you to cave in isn't working. You see, your brain wants the artificial high. It will play tricks with you. This time around, I used clonidine .01 2x a day during those stressful times. If prescribed, you do need to watch your blood pressure. Remember, your brain has to be re-trained. Last time, on day 12, my world was falling apart, or so I thought, I caved in and used. All I got was back to nothing. Lost my clean days and go to d/t all over again. This crap will lift, give your body time to heal.

Hi and YES! All normal and it will all go away. I am 135 days clean and am feeling great! But even now anxiety has been showing up these past few weeks. It is a learning process for our brains, but it will heal. I remember early in recovery that would bother me all the time. After a week I felt the pink cloud and life was amazing! But mentally, it is a challenge. Good days will come it time. You are 11 days which is huge but think about how long you were using and compare that to your new clean time. Even at almost five months I get some lingering symptoms here and there. Kind of weird but even in my case, vicodins for 7 years, I cant expect to be perfectly cured after 135 days. It is a process but it works. And you are on your way!!!!!!

Yes, what you describe is normal. The days are up and down in the beginning...

The basics are going to make you feel better. Your body needs rest and nutrition or it won't function properly.  Get some Ensure Plus and drink three per day for now. Find something that will help you with sleep. Call your doctor for a sleep med and use that to jump start your proper sleep pattern. Cut way down on caffeine.

I recommend Alteril a lot for sleep and folks have good results with it. Just do your best to get to sleep and get food in and you'll feel a lot better!
