Please Someone tell me how long this last

Can someone please tell me when I'll get my energy back. Will I never be the same again? I'm really scared and very anxious. I just need to know what to expect from methadone withdrawl. It's been 3 weeks. Is it too early? I was on methadone for about 8 months and weaned down to 40mg a day before going cold turkey. I'm sick of feeling this way. Please, somebody tell me what to expect

I,ve been off methadone for almost two months & can relate to this, as I still dont have the energy I had prior to getting onto methadone, although it has improved some, its still not what it was prior to methadone & Im kinda at the point in recovery where Im ok with it, its gonna come back when it comes back, Im done putting a time frame around it, as its gonna be what its gonna be. Im very grateful for what I have & happy that getting off methadone was a success. You will get your energy back, as I will to. Penelope

I know how hard that methadone is to kick. If you have 3 weeks under your belt, you are doing great. It will get better everyday. I know how hard that is to hear, when you feel so bad. You should be through the worst of it..

Hang on and keep posting, Are you taking vitamins? Check out the health page ans stock up...

Good luck,

I don't know a thing about methodone. tramadol was my DOC. Please don't get discouraged about the energy. It will come back. Excersise helps. I dwelled on the fact I had no energy and no motivavtion for a couple months. I personally was being a cry baby cause I didn't know how to live without pills.

Everybody is slightly different with this. It took me probably 8 weeks to start feeling very well. Probably 2 weeks of sick w/d's - several weeks of anxiety, panic attacks and high blood pressure. But after the strong w/d's it was gradually improving all the time...and it continues to improve....it is a hard thing to do but it is so worth it - 40mg is a pretty good dose and methadone is one of the hardest to quit. Just remember that it will pass and it will not kill you....keep posting for advice and support

I have not taken methadone but I do know it takes a while to get back to normal...due to the longer half life ...but even with hydro withdrawal...it has been close to 4 months and i have not gotten all my energy back...definietely not at 3 weeks and still had the depression thing going on as well....i know this is a much longer process that i thought initially...someone will post who has taken methadone...meanwhile stay strong and get as much exercise in as u can...certain vitamins and supps helps with the energy thing...keep posting
