Newbie needs some guidance

Finally had neck surgery after an injury 6 years ago and am feeling much better, but coming off of 25mg fentanly and 5 vics/es a day then percs for a month after the surgery...down to 12mg fentanly every 48 hours and 3 5/500 vics a day now...it has been 2 months since surgery. I seem so be at an empass...weather has been cooler than normal and cloudy, so my pain is up ...any tips. I read to exercise and I use to be faithully but the pain doc has me also on baclofen and I seem to have lost the drive and interest? I only take 15mg a day for muscle spams. The pain doc said it would take till the end of the year to get clean....wavery back and forth on if I am being too hard on myself? I tried lyrica and zanaflex...had very bad reactions to the lowest doeses....help please.

Guess the problem is and was intestinal/stomach flu...feeling better today. Hopefully tomorrow I will be up to excersing more and just all around more active than the last few days. So hard to tell if you have the flu or NOT enough meds in you! The meds veil symptoms other than the treating pain, leaves a person wondering sometimes..nature of the beast.

Thanks the Thomas Detox was very interesting, think I have every thing I need except the L-Tyrosine. I exercised today as posted to CadilacJack. I agree no sunshine makes everything much worse...had a low front go through and my pain soared. I use to exercise faithfully even before surgery, it is a slow go since then, really have to push myself. I feel flu like yucky off and on...right now more on.

Thanks much I am doing my best to go lower (meds) at the fastest pace I am able. I exercised today but not much, 4 miles on the recumbent bike and 5 minutes on the stairmaster....trying to do some exercise every day.

If you scroll down on the right hand side of the page under 'Most Viewed Health Pages' there is a link to 'Thomas Recipe Re-Posted'. Even though it is geared towards rapid detoxing, many of the supplements can be beneficial for increasing your energy or more naturally helping your body adjust to the changes. Just a note for safety - run everything you decide to try or take by your doctor even if it is a supplement.

As far as exercising, I had to just start very small and work my way up. At first I only went for a walk about the block (I didn't *want* to, but it was light enough I could do it). I think getting some sunlight and just being outside while doing this was beneficial as well in more than one way. Over time I gradually increased the amount of exercise I did without really thinking about it...

Only you know the pain you feel. The straight story is quit as soon as possible. Many of us on this forum deal with pain everyday. Dependency is the road to addiction. Best wishes.
