Quitting pain pills after 2 1/2-3 yrs

I am writing because me and my husband have currently stopped talking pain pills after being on them for 2.5-3 years. We got married and about a year later found ourselves hanging around the wrong crowds and here we are. We have both had major health problems (He had cancer ... I had a transplant) i no not very smart of either of us. But we are trying for like the millionth time to get clean... It it the 3rd full day. We are both very sick. We pretty much no what to expect for about the first week. we can handle the beginning (day 1-4) but its the mind part that get us both every time. Any idea how long it takes for the depress stage to get over? And info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..

we just moved about 5-6 hours aways from all our suppliers. So I'm hoping that we dont meet anyone up here that is a bad influence to us. We were also addicted to weed for about 1.5-2 yrs. We also quit that a little over a month ago.

Hi & Welcome,

That is a tough question to answer-everyone is different. While some may get past the depression after 2 weeks, others may take months. I always suggest that anyone coming off of pain meds get a good check-up and you may want to mention this to your doctor.

Question, if you don't mind--Since this is your millionth time detoxing, what are you going to do different so that you don't go back to the pills?
