@mykidsneedme these pills have that power they are sneaky, they are inconspicuous, it can happen to anyone at anytime. just stay strong, you can get through this! the symptoms will pass and you will be back to your old self.  be sure to talk to your doctor about getting something that is not an opiate based pain med. and tell him/her not to prescribe you any more pills.

Go to the Health Pages at the top right and see Thomas Recipe and Amino Acid Protocol.  They both have very helpful info.  Hot baths help.  Hylands Restful Legs helps.  Advil.  Heating pad.  Immodium.

Stay away from benzos and other addictive meds during your detox.  That will only complicate your problem....not help it!

Best of luck!  You can do this!

Congratulations on wantingto stop Jess, this is a place where you can cry and stomp your feet or just scream at us. We are here to support you through your jouney to recovery.60 days ago I was in your shoes. But here I am felling better than ever. You symptoms will subside in about a week, its just like having a bad flu. But as tigzz mentioned you can not so it alone, I sent my family a letter stating that I had become a ddict and was in recovery, I never had so many I love yous and we are here for you. we dont wake up one day and say "Hey today Ill be a addict". It just happens, Be strong, I would reccommend that you have no pills availible to you, if you have them, flush them, and break ties with your source. You can do this, JUst keep posting here and you will recieve so much support. My saving grace was music, and God, It helped me get through. Good luck and keep posting here letting us know how your doing.

Jess honestly, there is no magic substance that's going to take the withdrawal symptoms away. we all here reach a point in our life when we say enough is enough! all symptoms through withdrawal vary from person to person. some say oh this was the worst or that was the worst, but ya know what? we got through the worst of it because we wanted it, we wanted to get clean and be our old self! to wake up in the morning and feel alive and not numb. we come here to stop, get advice, and support one another. you just have to tell yourself you want this to be over with. everyday get up do your routine no matter how ya feel, keep fighting it and know that this bad crap will pass! it will pass, you are in fear mode, fear if withdrawals, don't live in fear, live your life clean and free of your addicition! the more you remember the withdrawals the less likely you will do it again. just stop the abuse to your mind and body, it will heal you can do it! keep a positive attitude throught your recovery, tell a family member, tell a friend you hve a problem, you will be amazed at the support you will find there. the more people that know the less likely the addiction will have this hold on you. it's a life changing event, but all I can say, it is worth it! it IS worth it! you can do it, many people on here have! and years later still come here! you can stop the addiction Jess, it is possible , but it has to start with you. read up on the Thomas rescipe link here on the forum and amino acid. these will not take the withdrawals away, BUT! lol it will make them last shorter, your body needs to heal, it will don't lose hope. just get fed up with this addiction, tell yourself you are done with this addiction, you have to want it. you have to want to stop! don't let fear rule you, it's where the addict in you resides. you can do this Jess everyone here is in different parts of recovery, we will support you getting free of this addiction. but it has to start with you. God bless
