Should I or will I be fine on suboxone

I've been on painkillers for three yrs. I had surgery on lower back and never got better. I've been reading some of these stories and trying to figure out if anyone can relate to mine. I am now a single parent of two and do have to work. I do have a doctor and him for CP. I've taken different meds but my doctor will not put me on anything too strong. I'm on percocets 10 mg 325 and on the patch 50 mcg. I'm going to see him tomorrow but I am so tired of being on meds and not even working all the time. I do have a lot of neuropathic pain and also have Fibromyalgia. I am pretty frustrated because it just seems like your life revolves around your pills. I sometimes take more than I have to to get rid of the pain in the real bad days. I've always taken them normally not chewing or anything like that. I have considered going on suboxon. I tried tapering but it just didn't work for my as I am a sucker for pain, I am also scared of what my kids will see as I try to get off the meds.
I did it once and went a week clean, then one night I couldn't move and had to work the next day, so I started again. I am confused and don't know what to do. I want my normal life back without having to worry if I have enough meds or will they work for this much pain.
The way I sometimes see it is that even though I take something for pain, it doesn't always work. What should I do... If I do get on suboxon, will I be able to work and care for my kids...
PLEASE, PLEASE, someone just open my eyes...

By patch, did you mean Fentanyl? If so, I would first wean off that, taking your time. 2-3weeks after you are off, then I would try tapering off the Percocets. This is just me, but here is my reasoning. Fentanyl is very hard to get off of because it has a long half-life, meaning it stay in your system a long time, hence longer withdrawal time. You didn't mention the Qty of Percs you are taking. But by tapering off them there will be less discomfort and you should still be able to function while weaning. Ask your Dr too, he/she might have a plan too.
I am not a fan of Suboxone. I think it should only be used when you have had several failed attempts at quitting. Again, my opinion.

If you are on the fentanyl patch you will want to taper down on that.  I would really talk with your doctor and see if you can come up with a plan to get off the meds.  Your pain may seem worse for awhile after you are completely off but it usually gets better.  Many of us dont have near the pain we did.

Well, I did go to the doctor and now I'm just on percocets 10mg 325 one every 4 hrs. max intake 6 a day. I think what I will try to do is take as prescribed, no more messing around and taking four at once, even if I hurt, I will take as the doctor tells me. If I can't wean myself off little by little, I will try suboxon.
I'm just confused about all this, I will also try to see a psychiatrist as this is getting me on the down side...
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH GUYS !!!!
You are the best :)
