I am looking for anyone who has had a family member die because of overdose
of xanax.  My loved one was trying to kick Soma and went to the doc for something
to "get him through" this period.

He was prescribed xanax  and I don't think he was educated as to the powerfulness of the
drug.  He took one xanax, did not feel any effects from it, took two more!!  This stopped his
heart and he passed away.

I'm so sorry for the loss of a loved one it is so Tragic and even more so if you think the cause was something he may have taken. I was on Soma for 12 years when I quit and I know my Body went thru some major trauma it may have been a combination or as stated above an underlying problem But thank-you for posting as this may help others to stop or not pick up.. Again I'm so sorry for your loss...

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is.. I have to agree with SunnyOne, somthing else was going on. Most people do not die from 3 xanax. Also The mgs of it would play some part. Most Dr's do not give more than the 1mgs. Was he taking other drugs with it. xanax can kill you if you mix it with the wrong meds. Just one can kill you.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I know that if I take xanax that can happen to me but because I'm on suboxone and that is not a good combo so I don't take it.
