T 3s Withdrawl

I have shingles in my thumb. The pain was so bad I needed 16 T3s a day for two months. Pain is gone so I stopped the 3s . While on them I could sleep 24/7. I have been off them 2 days and I am not able to sleep at all and am constantly stretching and restless. How long does this last ?

Thanks,

the wiggles......lol.   you crack me up.  Try some melatonin or OTC sleep aid for a little while.......it might help get you a few hours........I don't know about the wiggles...lol.  I never got those, but I did see them on t.v.........they were a creepy bunch of dudes.....:-))

You should be feeling better soon.  Take it easy.

Welcome...WD's vary from person to person. You were not on the pills for a long time so you should be in the home stretch for sure...you may feel better tomorrow (no wigglies and finally getting some sleep) or it might be a few more days of wigglies and no sleep or you might not have wigglies tomorrow but still be unable to sleep for a few days. I can tell you that you will be feeling much better very soon.
You were getting a mega-dose of tylenol with your 16 pills a day-very hard on your liver for sure. Be sure to drink lots of fluids (NO alcohol) and eat healthy. Get yourself some excercise and drink plenty of water. By this time next week you should be feeling much better. Don't fret the physical withdrawals...just go with them. The wigglies will subside and your sleep will return to normal.
Stick around and keep posting-
Good luck,

I am going through the same thing, and have done so many times before.

Try breathing deep tummy breaths, walking if you can (I am in a tiny hotel room in NYC, away from home and can't, as it is almost 4 a.m.)

How long I think depends on how long you were taking the pills. I have gone a couple of days, a week.

But, on the other hand, I am also an alcoholic (not using now) and have abused drugs also since I got sober, when I had med problems.

Then when meds dried up, I drank. Thank God I am not drinking now.

Hang in there. The stretching and restless is a killer, but I have been through worse, simply because I am an addict and used more painkillers, plus subbed the alcohol.

Hi and welcome to the Forum. Seeing as you have been on them for a short time you should be able sleep and get rid of the restlessness in about 2 more days. I do not know what your sleep patterns were like before the T3 but that seems to be the last thing to come back. You might try walking or hot bath for the restlessness and a hot shower right before you lay down it might help you to get a couple hours of sleep. Good on you that you stopped taking T3 when the pain was know more... Take care
