TAPERING OXYCODONE

I HAVE BEEN ON OXYCODONE FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND STARTED WITH 40 TO 50 MG A DAY AND WENT UP TO 90 MG A DAY FOR THE LAST THREE MONTHS> SUDDENLY 3 DAYS AGO I DROPPED TO 7.5 MG 3 TIMES A DAY , AND HAVE HARDLY NO SYMPTOMS. IS THIS GOOD. SHOULD I BE FEELING SOME WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS FROM DROPPING THAT FAR OF A DOSE FOR THE LAST THREE DAYS. I'VE SLEPT ALL NIGHT. THE VERY FIRST NIGHT A WOKE UP WITH STOMACH CRAMPS AND THE RUNS BUT THATS IT. I GUESS I FEEL A LITTLE DEPRESSED ,BUT NOTHING BAD. DOES ANYBODY THINK I'LL HAVE BAD WITHDRAWLS WEENING DOWN THE REST OF THE WAY?

Nothing to be afraid of. By listening to you, let me tell you what I see happening that you haven't really looked at yourself. The 2/3rd's mental aspect that Gnarly speaks of when describing the wd process from opiates is already alive and well with you. Your afraid to stop..Thats the key right there. That mental hold that these pills have on a person is already crawling into your life ever so elusively..Taking a half here or a half there is not going to make much of a difference in the wd process once a person goes cold turkey..Back to my point though. They have already started the process in your thinking. The physical wd part has not reached critical mass with you but the mental part of the pain med addiction is..Its right in your words. That other voice in your head saying "you can't live without me". Right now your saying your feeling what your feeling because your scared of the wd's. Thats not the real answer if you dig down into your mind. I see a person in conflict that likes the pills from time to time..The scared of the wd's is just a good justification to take the position you are..The mental attachment is growing Jed..Get away from them..It is growing..

Well I'm at 22.5 miiligrams a day right now , i still have some runs , but no fatigue, or headache, or anxiety. I'm kind of afraid to just quit, but i will keep going down every three days, until I'm down to literally nothing. then again I mght try to not take nothing at all and see what happens and if I get too uncomfortable then take a half , but only when I can't take it anymore . If it even gets to that.

Just go ahead and jump. If your comfortable that your not having any severe blowback from taking what you have for the past couple of months, just quit. No reason to to continue to take them. You may have a lingering headache that may bug you some for a week or so, but thats child's play to what you seem to have dodged. If you still have meds and have situations where you get hit with periodical spells of pain, then have a family member hold them for you.So, if you run into a bad day from over exerting which causes pain for a day or two that really causes you problems, then you can ask your family member for a few to get thru that couple of days. That way, you don't run the chance of overtaking them just because there available in fromt of your face. Honestly Jed, during the first year my re-ruture had been spotted back 4 years ago, I would need a script maybe 2 or three times a year to take until the pain subsided. Each time I ran out after a months usage, I had no problem with wd's as you describe..But the forst of the year the wakeup call came in on me. I had been on a 2 month usage period and whala! wd's nailed me when I went to stop that round..It will happen to you to. And once that line is crossed, there's no getting away from it from that point forward....You really are tettering on the fence right now. My bet is that if you get into another rumn like this past one, the line "will" have been crossed and you "will" begin to suffer that which 99.9% of everyone in here is experiencing with their desire to rid themselves of the pills ..Do it for you. Save yourself the torture because you just don't understand how close these things are in giving you a real taste of wd's...

So you would think I would definitely be feeling withdrawals dropping 70 mgs a day , not working down with no wd's. is that the typical case. if it is I am lucky. What do you think about Just jumping off. will it be bad or just take my time and stick with it?

Jed, like before back in May, you seems to be focusing on wd's too much or should I say the lack thereof....Relax. Put that out of your mind and keep your focus on dropping the pills..Your right on the fence of about to being hammered with the real deals of extended use..

As was said back then,,count your blessing that your not being hit hard with wd's as you really have taken enough, long enough, that most people would be having some serious wd's..Get away from them..You appear to be dodging a bullet for the second time..Third time around might not be so kind to you. They "will" nail you when you least expect it...
