I weened myself down to 10mg a day and felt withdrawals but not extreme withdrawals as if I were to go cold turkey. I did this about a week and then I quit cold turkey. The withdrawals were definitely not that bad! I recommend anyone taper as much as they can until they can just stop. I am on day 3 oxy free and I feel just about back to normal. I now have the energy back and can get up in the morning and stay awake without feeling tired all day. The key to my success was lots of beer, tylenol PM and Epsom salt baths. If you have problems with alcohol abuse then skip the beer part! :)
First of all, you dont have that large a habit to quit. You also dont have the historical length of addiction that many do. Lots of things going in your favor. I would recommned that you contact avisg for a taper plan - should be easy to establish for you and she is experienced. Follow and maintain your nutrition.....also your hydration - lots of water or gatorade, pedialyte,SoBe drinks - things low in sugar and caffeine. I feel that tapering slowly is the best plan - but to each his own. Many swear that they couldnt do a taper plan but that they could cold turkey 2 or 3 times a month - if you c/t try and take a few days off work and say its the flu (w/d's are like flu) after you are prepared.....many here are still waiting to help you out...people that have been there...good luck -
Actually I am a goat and one of the most strong willed and strong minded people u will ever come across...so much so that it is actually something i feel is one of my most negative qualities! not when it came to pills tho...i was a lousy taperer...on my own i woulda never been able to stick to it...so i gave them to someone else to give to me..and it is hard for a goat to admit defeat...but i quit in the long run..so I am okay with it...but u r right...when it came to the pills i was a total screw up
you basically said exactly what I said with a touch of Discouragement in there....you have to be strong-minded and strong-willed to do it on your own....must not be your best qualities lol
That is the hardest part when u have your pills in your possession...sounds easy tho dont it? Was not for me...i would end up taking the same amount every day or more due to the stress of trying not to take more....I was not a good taperer and had to give them to a friend to give to me...tapered quick and quit...and was happy when quit day came as tapering was agony for me...everyone is different....some have the control to stick to a taper to the T...it made me feel like a real loser when I tried to taper on my own...do it however u need to do it...just get it done
sounds like agood plan thank you ....i will try that i thought that was basicly what i had to do is only take them when i feel w/d's that might be the hardest part.....but i will try thanks again
Well the good news is your actually not on a terribly high dose of OC. When I was at my worst I was taking up to 4 or 5 80's a day...and I was slamming them. Anyway what I would do is only take a quarter of an 80 when you feel withdrawals coming on....otherwise don't do any at all. only do a quarter when you start to feel withdrawals. it will take the withdrawals away immediately....so do this for about a week or so then decrease the amount you take. Start to take a quarter of a 40 when you start to feel bad for a week...then a quarter of a 20 for a week then 10 etc. Thats what i would do...Hope that helps...Peace and love....good luck!

HI LADYLUV, TO TAPER YOU NEED TO CONTROL YHT AMOUNT YOU ARE TAKING. THAT IS HARD TO FIGURE WHEN you are breaking pieces up. you can do this you just have to try. cut down 1/10th of what you are taking. for 4 days and then do it again till you get down to none. give it a shot.
luv ya
