your central nervous system is weak now because drugs were doing its work for a while...
it will get stronger the more work you ask it do on its own (without methodone)...
don't ask it to do too much too early though...but get it stronger
Jesus IS THE Lord
johnnykelly seems to think he knows it all! I cant give you a whole lot of advice but i do agree with worried...i think it takes awhile for our bodies and minds to function with out the drugs...you are doing greAT. Obviously your not wasting your time...your sleep is getting better which is wonderful...keep being strong!
you are not wasting your time. methadone is better detoxed off at a very slow detox if possible. unfortunately, it takes a long time to get it all out of your system as it binds to your fat cells. the more fat cells the harder. of course, maybe you don't have many fat cells. hope not. i had too many and it took 31 days after being totally off before i started feeling normal. i detoxed way too quickly. went from 40 mg's daily to 0 in 2 weeks. i wouldn't reccomend that. you are sleeping now, which is really good. you will start feeling much better soon with the sleep. my prayers are with you.

John on one of your posts to me you claimed that I already am detoxed? Do you really believe that? Am I wasting time detoxing off at 1mg?
Penelope your almost finished,as long as you let it go.Every little nick, knock or watever is just that nothing. With all due respect you seem to correlale everything on the planet to methadone detox. The next time you speak to a health care professional(psychiatrist) ask why is it that im imfatuated with methadone, especially when youe at 2mg for the last 2 weeks. Penelope get it over, with all due respect its getting compulsive, neurotic and thats mentally dangerous. be cool
I am about 5 days after taking my last subox pill.I am so weak it is hard just to lay on the couch.I hope it gets a little better.
I cycle that way too....good energy days and bad energy days...I think our brains need time to heal and catch up...I used for energy...prescribed for pain...but was the energy I craved...I guess I fed my body energy for several years then took it away..the body is a fine tuned mechanism and when it senses that you are getting enough of something from the outside, it will cut down or even cease making that substance...in this case/endorphins/nuerotransmitters...some peopl have problems after getting off of anti-depressents due to the fact that the brain became dependent on them...exercise releases endorphins..I did not take all the aminos like I should have in the beginning..but now i see why it is so important for brain repair...sorry for the long post! LOL
Yeah, I was kinda thinking this would be the answers needed, I do understand that feeling of lugging around 20 pounds per leg, I also notice that their are times when it goes away & Im feeling pritty good, but today isnt one of them, if it wasnt for this I,d be fine, I just hate feeling drained. Thanks to all for much needed info. Penelope
Penelope, I know how you feel about feeling overwhelmed @ work. All of a sudden all the little things seem like enormous tasks...carries over @ home for me too. Sometimes I feel okay & sometimes I feel like I'm lugging around 20 lb weights on each leg. The lack of sleep aspect is the worse so I'm glad to hear you're finally getting some.
I don't know the actual science behind why we feel so weak while detoxing, but I would imagine it's our bodies way of readjusting to living without all the toxins its been accustomed to for so long. Good luck & keep doing the right thing!!!
for one thing, methadone is really hard on your body. it destroys cells. also, just the withdrawal is hard on your body. it leaves you weak and tired. a month's worth of very little sleep, not being able to eat much and just the stress of it all, weakens our systems. try to get some super strength vitamins and minerals with amino acids. eat very nutritional foods, stay away from junk food. do everything you can to build your strength back up. it will take time, Hun. have patience. the fact that you are sleeping well is the best healer of all as our bodies restore themselves best when we are sleeping. have patience. it will get better

I don't know if this is right but I've got a theory that it involves improper oxygenation of the bloodstream and hence a build up of lactic acid.
I've done a little reading on oxygenation therapy, and am considering trying it if I suffer that problem as badly as last time.
