Hi & Welcome,

Are you going to go ct or taper? Have you been through withdrawal in the past?

Also, were you taking them for pain or recreation? the reason I am asking these questions is so you can get the full benefit of the member's suggestions here. Each of us has been through or is going through the same thing but we have different approaches and experiences. Any information you provide will help.

Also know it is the weekend and is fairly quiet. Be patient as members come on. this is a great place for support.

I hear you. I went through the same thing.

If you have any left you could taper but it is a tall order. If you decide to go that route it would be best to have someone hold them for you and give them to you per your schedule. There are also otc supplements that you can take to help ease the withdrawal. And there are home suggestions to make you a bit more comfortable.

Please pardon me, I am on the way out the door so I have to go. Please stick around and more members will come and help you with suggestions.

Hope to see you later on. Know that you are not alone and there some real good support here. Hang in there.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.  I gather from your Post that this is sort of a "Forced" withdrawal becaue you ran out?

I've had that happen too, and you can expect to feel like an extremely bad flu.  I am not a Dr., but I think 120mgs is alot to just stop all at once.

Do you have Health Insurance.  I think it would be good if you could go to the Dr., or even the ER, and tell them what's going on.

I know how scary it is right now for you, I've been in the same place.  There is a link here for "Health Pages," and there is some good advice for things you can do to help yourself while your detoxing.  One is the Thomas Recipe, and the other has to do with taking Supplements and  Amino Acids.

If you do have some Medication left, you might try to taper yourself down if you can, before quitting completely.

I wish you all the best.

Hi!   I'll be on for a bit. We can post back and forth and I'll try to help.  Let me just say,you won't die from withdrawals but you won't feel well. It would be like a very bad flu.

Do you think it might be better to call your doctor on Monday? He/she could help you with this so you don't feel so alone and scared.

Do you have any pills left?

Okay...It looks like you take 12 a day? Is that right?  Do you take 2 at a time?  Do you swallow them?    How many do you have left?

I (we) can try to help. We are not doctors. We do not give taper plans(against forum guidelines).  But,we can make a few suggestions and give you a lot of support.

Keep posting...

Hi buddy, Yes many addicts start out getting hooked after be prescribed for legit reasons.
I have done both myself, I have a running battle with my addiction. But I have had success's and setbacks and have kicked everything from Heroin, Percs, Oxy's, Dilaudid, and Morphine both IV and oral...  It does help to taper but as already mentioned it is hard to do it for yourself, you are not in your right mind while under the influence and your body takes you and your mind for a ride. The first time I went cold turkey I was in a bad way but was determined to do it and that is what saw me through. The first 72 hours can be the worst no sleep sweating body aches tremors, intestinal maladies nightmares and emotional trauma and depression difficulty concentrating etc.... after that is gets better. There are videos on youtube that may help made by people going through the same thing. Just steer clear of those showing people using...

You have to look at it like you are going to go through a whip line and in the end you will be clean and  healthy and that is for certain. You WILL get better but it is going to be rough for a while if you can take four days off from obligations that is good. You just say you have the flu if you want. I can echo what badshadow has said, some good thoughts and advice there.

It is scary but you have to steel yourself and know that every hour of suffering gets you one hour closer to freedom.

Some supplies that have helped me in the past are antihistamines, (don't get the non drowsy type you don't need help staying awake), over the counter anti diarrhea treatment, Gatorade or something like it. Hot baths with epsom salts or just a hot shower helps with the cold feeling and sweating and aches.

It is a scary place to be for sure but you are in it now so there is only one way out you have to see this through because when you come out the other side the feeling is amazing and you can rightfully be proud of yourself.

I am wishing you the best. You CAN do this. Hang tough my friend my heart goes out to you and any of us going through this. Just never forget why you are quitting and try to always remember why you quit to help you not go back.

You can't live a good life sleepwalking through this world you know as well as I do that you miss so much. So get yourself well and it will be as though you are walking in the sunshine after a long dark storm. Good luck buddy.  Frank.

You can do a taper with that amount but as I said, it would be best to have someone help you with it. When the withdrawal starts you will be tempted.

Another thing to remember is to try not to take several at once. Spread them out over a period of time while tapering. Eight at once is excessive and what it does it spike your dose. Taking them like that actually puts your body into detox.

So let's say you cut down to 8 a day (this is just an example), take one every hour and that will keep your body at an even keel (sp?)

You have got some great advise already, stick around.

Okay...Maybe you can just do the math on this okay?  You have 40 pills and you take about 24 pills a day.(Don't count the refill)   Cut back on that.  Divide the pills up and decrease each day by several. I think you can do this.

Just drink a lot of water and juices, take vitamins, try to eat and get a little exercise everyday.  Be sure to eat.

Look around for another doctor starting now. That's a ridiculous way of prescribing pain med.  The amount of Tylenol alone is shocking and not good for you. Also,I've told many people: If you're not getting what you need from your doctor, ask the pharmacist for help. So,maybe you can call the pharmacy for suggestions, also.

Don't worry and keep posting~

Vicki

How much tylenol do each of these pills have and your doctor is prescribing you 12 a day?
Yes start spreading them out threw out the day. I would not take more then 2 at a time .Then just keep cutting back the amount  everyday... you can do this
