Trying to find a treatment center

Hello,

I am trying to friend a good inpatient treatment center for a friend in California.  He has a prescription drug/alcohol addiction.  He has already visited one facility, but unfortunately did not care for it.   I have found numerous websites that list all the treatment centers available by zip code, but have not found a site that shows reviews of the different facilities.  Does anyone know of a site like this or can someone perhaps give a thumbs up to a center in the Modesto/Turlock or even San Francisco area.

I truly appreciate any input, as I am quite stressed and anxious to get them professional help for getting on the road to recovery.

Thanks everyone,
Jim

Thanks j34 & boogieman for your input.

I truly believe he is ready to stop and realizes that he need professional help.

The facility he went to was terribly rundown.  Even his father who went with him to look at the facility did not approve.

He is ready to check in to a place.  The issues is since it is someone's life one is dealing with, one wants to make a informed decission and choose the best program possible.

I guess they will just have to drive around a visit a few places.

Thanks

Sorry I am from Canada but I do know that you have to go to a drug and alcohol counselor to get a referral then you get put on a waiting list here.  I suggest detox center if he is not clean but the councellor would be the best bet.i agree with gm when I went to treatment i did not like it either cause I still had reservations I still did not believe I was powerless over drugs and booze,I thought a treatment center would fix me .I did not know that I had to be willing.i became willing tho and now am 7 months clean with the help of Aa and Na.I had to do it on my own when I had others help me I wasn't admitting to the fact that I was unmanageable.... and the word to be ACCOUNTABLE???? for MY addiction was way to much and I just kept getting loaded until I made the decision to seek recovery for me. Hope this helps

hi. i don't get that he "did not care for it." sounds like they aren't ready to stop. if that's the case, save your cash or insurance until the pain is greater than the pride. hope it doesn't take very long. good luck,  gm
