Ultram ER 100mg Tab?

I have been off morphine for 26 days...Using a Fentanyl patch 50mcg/hr for a year or so.......My back is giving me problems and I am wondering about a script my doc gave me for Ultram ER....He says this is not an opiate but I have read a lot about Ultram on here....not seen that much about the "extended release."  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  I don't want to go down that road if it will lead to disaster (again).

Thanks for letting me know about the Ultram.  I definitely will not be getting the prescription filled...I cannot knowingly go down that road again.  You saved me some suffering.  I have a friend that suggested some Alternative routes to back pain like acupuncture....I will see where that leads....thanks again.

Hey Mark, just read your post and yes Ultram is considered an opiate, not as much in the sense as chemicaly similar to hydrocodone, fentanyl or the others but it binds with the same receptors in your body that the other opiates bind with. You can get a buzz and you can withdraw from them if you take them alot and then stop so be careful man. Hope this helped.
