Day 4/first NA meeting

Ok people, day 4 without hydro is so far so good! My w/d symptoms have been mild today so that's good.  I did sweat my way through my very first NA meeting.  All that sweaty hand shaking! I felt bad for my fellow addicts, yuck! Although I'm sure they understand ;)  Actually, I was pleasantly surprised. I met some very nice people who are dedicated to staying clean and supporting others. It was good to be around people who can relate and offer support.  I was really freaked out by the 12 steps, but I learned that IT'S OK to be scared! It's not like I have to call everyone I know and make amends TODAY! I just need to come to grips with the fact that this is a lifelong process, not something that happens overnight. There were a couple of court ordered people there, but way more voluntary participants. One woman there has almost 25 years sobriety, WOW! Anyways, overall a good experience and I recommend it to all of you who are suffering with addiction.
