I was up to 100 mgs a day/3-4 years..but as a rule averaged 90mgs a day,,,for me wd was not the hard part at all,...i know i had an easy time of it and i dont know why...i felt pretty good day 4 and went back to work day 5..day 1 being the worst for me which is unusual...my symptoms were extreme fatigue, nausea, a mild headache and massive runs..no vomiting and no rls...i exercised everyday altho i only made it 20 minutes on day 1 at the gym and more each day...i took small pieces of valium during the day which probably added up to 5 mgs a day and took 2.5 mgs of ambien for sleep..phenergan too and for nausea as well....some people abuse benzos and valium tho so being safe its always important when u used drugs like these to detox with..i also drank EmergenC and all the vitamins in the recipe as well..imodium liberally

the aftermath for me was the hard part..about 2 weeks in, after the physical part was over, a wave of fatigue hit me that lasted over 2 months..i felt like i might lose my job as getting out the door each morning was a major ordeal..in fact i was at a point where i did not care if i lost my job and a deep depression set in...i was losing it...i had slowed on my meetings and also on my workouts and was working/that was it/all the energy i could muster up...my social life was nil....one day i re-read the recipe and bumped up all of my doses to the recommended amounts/tyrosine being the one that helped me most/and hit the gym if it killed me..meetings almost every night again..and i came out of it...i almost wne t back under tho..so very very close and i kept getting sick with viruses over and over during this time on top of it...that is why i think vitamins like C and stuff are good cos this can take a toll on ur immune system..
so maybe i paid the price later since my initial detox was easy???dont know...being physically ill for a few days was not the worst part by far of this whole mess 4 me and i was afraid of the wrong things now that i look back..i was afraid of feeling sick for a few days..and i was afraid of the wrong part...aftercare is so very important to recovery

i freed myself after a 31/2 year habit...did the ct and felt pretty awful for 4/5 days.  it was like a bad flu.  the no sleep was the worst for me but as a couple weeks past... i was sleeping ok.  i think people are more afraid of the wds then the actual wds.   you can do it.  if you need any help there are plenty of people here to help...please stay here and let us know how you re doing...good luck to ya...maria

I did it...I had a three year addiction to oxycontin  vics, percs and soma and klonopin
I was a nightmare,,I was chewing up my oxycontin,,I first quit the oxy and was taking about 20 ten mg per's a day till I got stable then I went to vic's and then I tapered of of them it took me some time to do....
I have a friend that was taking oxy for 8 years and did a cold turkey and it was about two weeks before he was up and moving....
Good luck to you...
Let me know if I can tell you anything else

For me the worst was over in 6 days…and yet four months later I’m still trying to adjust. Once in a while I still get the RL’s and the pain has greatly intensified but I have been trying other things to eliminate\reduce it.  I was on for over 8 years and I feel that I still have a way to go but I have not had a thought about taking a pill - at all.  I did detox with 4 kids in the house with the youngest being 4 and the oldest 12. They were a big help to help me get my mind off of things. They knew what I was doing\going through, nevertheless not fully understanding it but it helped tremendously. Best of luck
