Oh yes, you might not have an appetite for a few days. You absolutely have to try even if it is just a protein shake. The other thing you have to be careful of....do not get dehydrated. Makes it much worse. Drink tons of water, gatorade, lifewater (the kind that has electrolytes). Stay away from caffeine and alcohol.
Well if you are starting to feel like you need them to function then you are well on your way to addiction. The good news: you aren't too far gone into the pills yet. The bad news: I can't tell you how bad the w/d's will be. It is different for everyone.
I would think that it should not be bad for you. Maybe an uncomfortable 3 days and a few days of yucks. Some things you can pick up to help with symptoms:
Immodium (trust me...this is a necessity)
Chocolate (another necessity)
epsom salts (big bag). Take as many hot baths with it as necessary to help get the toxins out plus it feels good
Hyland's restless legs tablets
A good Multi-Vitamin
A good B Complex Vitamin
Melatonin to help with sleep
Valerian to help with anxiety
Also, go to the search bar and search for the thomas recipe. Lots of good suggestions there too.
Once you start the w/d's post a new question and title it ... Withdrawing...Need Help. If you do that lots will offer all sorts of advice to help you through the process.
Honestly though, if you really weren't taking that many pills it should not be horrible as it is for some of us. I was prescribed opiates for over 10 years. Towards the end i was taking 8-10 15 mg oxycodone per day. It took me 7 days for full withdrawal. I'm at day 41 now and still have issues.
You are in early days, you should hopefully be able to avoid the issues that come with long term use.
Congrats on recognizing the issue now before it catches hold too bad. Once you get off of them...stay off of them...and consider some aftercare programs too.
Good luck to you!
I originally was not taking as much as they prescribed but I started taking them as prescribed when the pain with my ear and getting teeth pulled got bad. I want to get off of them because I don't like having to take pills everyday to make it through the day. It almost feels like I need them to function. I know I don't that it's all in my mind.

Hi Rhee and welcome!!
Are you stopping now while in the midst of ear infection etc because you've run out of pills and the docs have quit prescribing or because you really want off the opiates and to get clean?
I see you said the amount of pills you increased but was that by doctor order or because you needed to increase them because you didn't think they were working good enough or because they weren't giving you the buzz anymore?
Just trying to get a handle on whether you are dependent, truly addicted or just sick of how they make you feel. It can make a difference on how you will feel when you quit.
You were really taking a relatively low amount compared to most of us so I wouldn't think withdrawals would be bad...but a little more information would be helpful so you can get some advice, suggestions and support that deals directly with your situation.
Also what over the counter meds can I take to ease the symptoms?
