Way better today... What I figured out!

I am on day 5 and so much better!  I have been taking the supplements from the Thomas Recipe and I know they helped tremendously so I will not knock it.  However, for me I figured out that the L-Torasine was adding to my anxiety bad!! I took 3 500mg pills yesterday and I thought I was going to crawl out of my own skin.  I felt like I was going to lose it.  I decided maybe it was the supplements so this morning I did my regular routine of two cups of coffee and I only took the potassium for my rls and drank some Emergen-C.  It was like night and day!  Of course I am still dragging a** BUT I feel somewhat human.  I went to my son's school for a few hours and I went out to lunch with my hubby.  (my appetite that left years ago when I started popping pills is coming back!)  Don't get me wrong, I still have cravings but I see a very very faint light at the end of this long long tunnel!  Good Luck!  We can do this!

Honestly I felt good with the tyrosine on the first day only. Then after that it made me manic and made my anxiety worse! So I cut the dose in half but stopped after 4 days and felt much better. Now I take ginko biloba, ginseng, a men's multi vitamin that has all the b complex stuff and occasionally some vilarian root if my anxiety gets too bad. I also bought kava supplements that have helped with the anxiety. This combo seems to be working really well for me.

Well no wonder I was a jittery mess!  The Thomas Recipe I read said to start at 2000mg and go up or down.

L Tyrosine side effects can include over-stimulation, restlessness, anxiety, and insomnia. Heart palpitations or arrhythmia's are potential side effects that occur from high doses of tyrosine. These can occur in sensitive individuals in as low a dose as 200 to 500 mg.

3-500mg pills are way too much!  Always start with a low dose, such as 200 mg or less, even if it means opening a capsule and taking a portion of it.
What it's supposed to do is metabolize into dopamine  which can convert into norepinephrine and then to epinephrine. It is supposed to increase metal alertness and combat depression.  But what you were taking was far too much, and obviously causing your axiety!

The vitamin c is a good idea, up too 1000mg won't do you any harm, as well you can take a good quality multi vitamin will the full b complex vitamins. Those can be kinds pricey, but you need the b complex vitamins, and they are usually missing in cheaper multi vitamin formulations.  They really help you get your energy back. Also make sure you are getting enough iron/ folic acid.

Day 6 for me too ... just doing B complex by no L-tryosine.

The tearing and incessant yawning has stopped ... sleeping is a major issue for me because has soon as I lay my head down I start freaking out and thinking "oh no, not another night of no sleep ... pls god let me sleep"  I think my head is making it worse than it is.  But for right now, Ambien is doing the trick.

On day 6 here and doing well too.  I am taking the L-tryosine, but at a lower does of 2- 500 mg pills with the b6.  So far no anxiety, but we all feel these things differently.  Glad you are eating and getting out, that has helped me a lot as well.  Congrats.  The best thing is my emotions are starting to surface again.

fiuu.. yeah, sure it was the tyrosine, Lily...it can make some people feel jittery . I believe that the best moment to start with it is when most of the worst physical symptoms are gone and we start feeling down with the  lack or energy and motivation , that is after some 7/10 days. It helped me for the first months ( 2/3... not sure ) but i only took the lowest dose and in the mornings, i took also the 5htp for the mood... ok, glad that you are feeling much better :)
