What is it like going from 400mg Oxy to Methadone

Hi guys,
I have been watching this site and thought you guys could help me.  Through no choice of my own, (long story), On Thursday I have a Drs. appointment at the Methadone Clinic.  I am really nervous and concerned about taking methadone.  I have been without my medication before for a short time and the withdrawal is just brutal...I am very scared thinking  I may have to feel this again. Any thoughts would be welcome.

4000 mgs of oxy is a high dose..this u probably know or u wouldnt be seeking an alternative...methadone will help...probably will feel lil wd if any....suboxone is another maintenance drug  people use...both methadone and sub/due to the long half life/ can have brutal wds if u ever want to get off of the drug/u r basically going to another narcotic but often people need this time to work on their issues/triggers///but neither drug will make u clean..u gotta do the work to make urself clean....neither will cause a whole lot of problems if used short term/21 days or less...thing is the physical part is the easy part ...the mental part later on causes relapse...have u ever tried any aftercare???  it can often be the missing link...be safe and keep posting
