Will soon be "jumping!"

I've posted before and still been around some, but now that I'm getting to the end of my taper, I have some questions. Just a lil background for some: I have been on suboxone for 4 and a half years! (Stupid, stupid, stupid!) Anyway, it has taken me 6 mths, but I started out on 16-24 mgs a day and now I'm down to one mg a day.  I've got 3 kids (5,3, and 1) and also work a full time job. No sick/vacation time left. Out of the Thomas Recipe and the Amino Acid Protocol, which one should I do? I know subs have a longer half life, so I'm trying to figure out which recipe would be most beneficial to me.  I just want to get this **** outta my system and start living a normal, clean life.

The Thomas Recipe is really meant to get through acute wd.  The amino acid protocol is meant to be used  for a couple of months afer you are "clean".

I'd use the original Thomas recipe that calls for a benzo for a few days if you think you'll be really sick and schedule it so the worst wd is over a weekend.

I know.. that is quite a long time.  I jumped off of 1mg after over 2 1/2 years.  It wasnt fun.  I wont lie. Talk to your doctor.  Definitely try the clonidine too... Ive heard good things about it. I did it without clonidine or any benzo. but do have Lunesta.. which really didnt help.

Thank you for answering! Oh yes! I don't plan to jump @ 1 mg. Its just so scary! 4 and half years is a LONG time to be on such a strong opiate such as subs.

Not sure about which method is best for you thomas v. aminos, but I would suggest going lower than 1mg.. halfs of halfs of half.  This seems to be the best way to come off suboxone w/out too many issues.  Good luck.
