Withdrawal

I am new to this website, however not new to addiction.  I was on oxycontin about 3 years ago and ended up having to do the rapid detox to get off of them.  I did really well up until I had my baby (by c-section) 6 months ago and was giving perocet 10/325, then a month later I had my appendics removed and given more perocets.  Needless to say I have been taking them for the past 6 months and enough is enough.  I can honestly say I never abused them this go around.  The most I have ever taken was 3 in one day, but don't get me wrong, I was taking them when I really didn't need them. The last perocet I took has been over 24 hours and so far so good.  I am just waiting for the withdrawals to come.   So my question is, when will the withdrawals be coming?  I know what it is like when you take ALOT of oxycontin, but not perocet.  I know they are both opiates, but where I wasn't taken nearly as many perocet and not as long as I was taking the oxycontin, will the withdrawals be the same?  Thanks, for any advice.

OK, it has been has been over 48 hours and I am still doing pretty good.  Don't get me wrong I am sluggish and have diareaha, but besides that nothing.  No RLS, no cold sweats, sneezing, etc.  I guess I quit before it got too bad.  To tell you the truth, I think the fear of withdrawaling can be just as bad as actually going through withdrawals.   Believe me I have been through some withdrawals coming off of OC (about 10 80mg a day), even with the rapid detox.  It took about 2 months until I felt normal again.  I told myself I would never let it get that bad again, but here I am.  I guess I need to get on my hands and knees and thank god I quit before it got that bad again.  I will keep you posted.

Everyone is different but from what I have learned here it shouldn't be as bad as WD from the OC. Usually day 3ish is the worst, at least for me, then it gets a little better each and everyday. Good luck and welcome to the forum. Everyone here is great and very helpful. You have come to the right place.

this wont be pleasent but it very well maybe nothing like your OC w/d I think you will be just fine and get through it. If you made it through an OC w/d this will be easier. Im hoping for you anyway

Ok so lets see you have taken 3 or so in a day for 6 months, you will probably feel some of the WD affecting you like within 24 hrs and the wd syptoms will probably all be about the same just not as string and as long. I would definately expect and plan to feel bad like the good ol flu for atleast 3-5 days. Good luck and congrats for finding the courage to do this and do it now!
