Withdrawal

Can anyone tell me how long the withdrawal symptoms last when coming off Oxycontin?  I've been taking 300mg a day for the last four years because of spinal disease.  I've now decided I'd rather suffer the pain than deal with this drug anymore.  I no longer have any interest in anything and spend most of my days watching TV.  After doing my research, I've decided it's the drug from hell and I really need to stop.  I've cut my dosage to 40mg a day for the last five days and it's been pure HELL but I'm determined to do it.  I want my life back!!!!

Hi there,  if u have enough pills, i would suggest you taper very slowly, like maybe today you take enough to barely feel  ok stay there 3or 4 days go down 5mgs stay there another 3-4 days and when you get closer to the end say around idk  20mgs  or 15mgs  start going down1/2 mg every few days instead. Just a suggestion maybe this way when u get to nothing it will be more tolerable. if this doesnt sound like something u might want to do maybe someone else will come along and offer other advice, unless you are just so sick of this that you just want off then there is always cold turkey, and u r right this is a drug from hell known as hillbilly heroin.

The main w/d symptoms last about 5-7 days. Then you start to feel better, slowly. Exercise and vitamins, amino acids and supplements are vital to your recovery.
Look in the Health Pages at the top right of page. Amino acid protocol and the Thomas Recipe are good places to start.
