Thank you.I want to fill script for the pain relief yes.But I am honest enough to say I didn't want it before because it wasn't working. I was hoping that with the patch it will help. I mentioned my addictive behaviour because I know I will try alot to get relief even if it means lying to my husband(which btw after posting here I told him how I was feeling). He now has the script. I just wanted to share so I could release my fears. Thanks for understanding and being here.
I dont have the answer for you but I can tell you that I have detoxed off of percs many times, & I had no health issues, I only used them to mask reality, but I can tell you that everyday without them it does get better, it may not seem like it right now, but it will, hang in their!! Penelope
Well, just so you know, it can take a bit for the patches to kinda "kick in' if you will. If it doesn't work, it's not necessarily the med., in fact, that's a strong one, so it'd be due to the dose. When one med is switched for another, the milliequivalent dose has to figured and either give the equivalent to the dose of the last med, or increase it accordingly. That was just meant to be informative by the way, not meant to say you should or should not be on pain meds in the first place. Have you spoken to your doc about your substance abuse history? This is pretty important here, and if you haven't, I'd do that. Whatever you do, do not attempt to get relief by doing anything with the fentanyl patch other than to put it on your body. In other words, don't suck on it, puncture it, that kinda thing. For some, the patch system doesn't work well, needing to be changed every two days instead of every three, but since you've just started, that would be hard to determine, and normally, a doc who puts you on this asks for feedback to find the proper dose. Again, not to say you should or should not be on this, just wanna make it clear here. Are you wanting to fill the percocet script to get the high, or for pain relief? Welcome to the forum by the way.
well, the good thing is that you are aware of your addictive behaviour, you are even delaying the wrong kind of action by checking in here, I am sorry I have had to take narco medications for any kind of pain, I just used them for fun, I don't know about percocet as well. But I know that giving in to your temptation will only cause you harm, see if you can get some more medical advice on this, do anything to remove the pain but drugs which also get you high. One thing I can suggest which won't remove your pain instantly like drugs do but help more in the long term is to try out things like Yoga & other alternative therapies like accupuncture, I have personally seen such things world miracles for people, they could work for you too...!
