I'm cutting down my panadeine forte 500mg Panadol 30mg codeine,I have been on them for about 5-6years,I'm not sure as the last few years have been a blurr of loads of xanax, oxys, valium blah blah,,my doc in Melbourne Australia gave me 20 panadeine forte for my period pain,n I felt so warm n relaxed on it,then when I went back for more he said "u can have 100 coz its a few dollars more than 20,,hell yeah,,now I'm in hell...yeah!!
Also I drank pre teen, stealing booze from my parents, taking vodka to school in a soda stream bottle. After a lifetime of booze n depression I finally gave up,no AA,no counselling, left my home land NZ for a guy I met on the net in Melbourne n after 13 months we broke up, I had given up drinking a few weeks before the break up n it was hell, but I didn't drink.  Being in a foreign country, no family, money or job it was the worst time of my life. I didn't wanna go bak to NZ with my tail between my legs and I made a life and done well, stayed sober 11 years and relapsed 2013 until December 9 2015,,I couldn't find a job n felt rejected and no one wanted me. Was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder so it all makes sense now. Its like someone else made a huge mess in a hotel room (being my life) and I'm the cleaner, gotta fix the mess..n dunno where to start.
Getting off xanax was sheer hell, waking 3am with severe brain fog, anxiety and every nerve in my body buzzing..
So here in am a year or a few months later, cant remember how long ago i got off that filth going thru more brain fog, pure evil,,pills r worse than grog to come off, I'd rather physical detox than head f--- ****,,I wish id never touched pills,,but right now, wish I was never born.  The reason why I never had kids, didnt want any soul to feel like me, all my life..they say lifes short but it feels sooo long.  I just wanted to share tonight, thanks...Paulzie

I am on day 5 of detoxing from norco.  I was taking them daily for 8 months and at the end got up to 12.  Have had gastric bypass surgery so my absorption is not as the normal person.  So 12 for me could be equivilant to 6 to 8 for a normal person. Days 1 thru 3 were horrid.  Day 4 was better but I found the Thomas Recipe and started on day 4, with the exception of valium.  Am physically feeling better  but I have blurry eyes and I feel like I am in a fog.  Also, bad taste in my mouth.  Does anyone know how long it will take for these side effect to go away?

Yes, I have had it during withdrawls/PAWS and you can/will get them in the PAWS period as well. Your brain does not heal/readjust so fast and you will likely have them off and on for maybe a year. It does have a lot to do with how much and maybe more importantly how long you where taking the medicine.
Hope that helps, be assured though it goes back to normal.

Hi...it's day 10...my withdrawals have intensified. Does this get worse before it gets better? I mean does it reach a peak of intensity and then start to fade. Im doing sooo bad. Deep depression, very bad nausea, cold and hot....stomach cramps...I wasnt even this bad in the beginning. Please I feel like going into a detox place.

Congrats on 10 days clean today and of course you will get better. Everyone is different, but that first month clean, I thought i had brain damage, lol. I couldn't remember stuff, all sketchy and could not think straight. I do remember when that fog lifted how good I felt, it's amazing how much these drugs mess us up for awhile, but we do heal with a bit of time. Your still so early so be patient even though it's frustrating sometimes. You will be back to a 150 IQ soon, haha. Stay strong!

Opiate withdrawal does weird things, sometimes different for different people. I was just PMing someone else that although I usually have great handwriting, unless I really really concentrate right now, I just scribble (I'm on day 6 off oxycodone). My hands aren't shaking or anything - it's just weird, but I expect it will pass with time. I'm sure your mental fog will as well. You might look into taking some multivitamins, L-Tyrosine, etc. to help out your mental alertness. Could be just mental for me, but they seem to help.

Withdrawal symptoms just last different times for different people. Just give it some time. You should feel better within 30 days or so. The fog may lift tomorrow, or it may take some time. It's just your body getting used to a clean life.
