can I stop my add with subutex?

I'm a heroin add and I would like to know if I take sub and if I am reducing the dose, gradually, I can stop to take the sub? today I take sub for the 1th time but without a prescription. I bought on the street.
Someone can help me?

hello, I'm good, veery good!! with the sub I only remember in the morning. I make my day normally. at night usuallly I'm making connection with good old friends and living my life like normal peolpe, without adds. I'm trying spend less time at home thinking in *****.. I got lucky because I know all kind of people, good , bad, rich, poor, etc. and its good for me, if I choose the right ones I'll become like them!!!

I work as electrician in the biggest electricity company in Portugal.. it requires a little responsability, not mucth... but now I'm making plans for the future and who knows if leave Portugal and go to a coutry in europe?? the only problem is the suboxone program that I have and want to complete. but for now are just thoughts..is to early, I just started today!! as I said in my last post my wish is to get clean forever and I will do whatever it takes.. I want to thanks for all the suport that you and the rest of the people gave me and I hope to continue in this site!!!!

wow that is great. you are on the recovery road.good for you.
that is a great support group that they set you up with.
being prescribed the sub by the doctor and being monitored by him is the only safe and proper way to do it.a psychologist and a social worker. awesome. you have a great mindset about wanting to get and stay clean. that is very important. keep up the good work.
i am so glad everything came together so quickly for you.
pretty sure it doesnt show up as an opiate.

Hi everyone!! Today I went to the doctor and he prescribed me SUBOXONE, its the same group that subutex but contains naloxone, a opioid antagonist. For me is better because even I want to go to heroine I cant!!!! Only if I'm crazy!!!
I got lucky because in the same morning I went to the doctor, than I went to psychologist and the last a social worker (I dont know how to say in english but I think is social worker). Here in Portugal all this process usually takes 15 days or more...I think they saw that I really want to get clean so they gave me a "chance"
In the 1st week I got to go to the center take the pill because they want to see me and how I'll react.  Now I'm feeling mutch better!!
I'm only afraid the urine tests accuse positive because in my job they do this tests 3 in 3 months. Until now I find a way to fool them but I dont want to do it anymore. I think sub and suboxone accuse positive but tomorrow I will ask the doctor if its true.
Now my wish is get clean forever and I will do it with my medical team and with all of you, off course!!!!!!

HI sub willl work for you but you need to get it from a doctor and be monitored on it it is not safe getting it off the street and self administering it sub buy it self wont get you clean it will just make you a sub junkie its thre aftercare where you work on your recovery that sub become a good tool to use it puts your addiction on hold and give you time to straiten out your life when used with an aftercare program it can be an effective tool to get clean please see a doctor and do ti right good luck and God bless......Gnarly

i am glad you went to see the doctor. i hope he gives you the sub. so you wont have to buy it from the street. the doctor can monitor you and give you the proper dosage. please check this website. alcoholics anonymous. dont be thrown off by the alcohol name of the group. it is a support group for all substance abuse. you will learn  about addiction and things that will help you learn to live without illicit drugs. there is a number to call to find local meetings. they are free. read other threads on the forum that will also help you and encourage you.

I take a 8mg.. My "friend" (dealer) told me the same, I need to be in withdrawl at least 4 hours, and then I cant take heroin. I did a search on the net and he was right. I took little doses of heroin 5 or 6 times day so a 8mg is enough for me. I dont want to take more heroin and I'm glad it dont work, once I took the pill in the morning I try not to think more in heroin during the day... Big thanks vicky!

How much Sub did you take?  I'm curious because you've been on Heroin and you need to be in withdrawal to begin Sub treatment. If not, you could get sick!  I'm glad you feel okay and I hope you speak to the doctor tomorrow. Now that you've been taking Sub, DO NOT take any Heroin. It won't work...okay?

today I took my 2nd pill (sub) and I'm feeling good.  I also went to the doctor but only tomorrow he will see me and I hope he prescribes me the sub for I not buy more on the street. I will start a recovery program with medical care including psychologists and more.. But the problem here in Portugal is the time  it takes to start up.. But I want to get clean and I will do anything to stop the heroin. If you can help me here I thank you because all the help is welcome especially when I'm alone at home. Big thanks.
