Hi!  I just wanted to say that we all know how the opiates work on us,  all of us have been or ARE where you are now,   you are not alone.   I talked to one of my Dr.s abt withdrawing from lortab.  He prescribed Clonidine,  and I had a few tranzene already.  I stocked up on Immodium, benadryl, otc pain meds(arthritis strength).  I used a heating pad at night,  took hot baths & showers.   The clonidine really did help!!!!!!!  It got me through day 4, which was the worst.  Day one wasn't too bad,  but days 2,3,4 were the pits,  but day 5 came and I knew I was gona be okay, feeling some better by that time.

The opiates seem to cause more pain after I had to increase the dosage,  I actualy felt better when I got off of them!  Plus, I had alot of the mental strain lifted too because I didn't have to count pills anymore or worry abt. being out before refill time!  Oh, I hated that!  It was like I had to plan my life around the dang things!

Best wishes to you,  Please read the others posts on this site as many are in the same situation as you seem to be.

You sounded so much like me not to long ago... Today has been one week since I have been off them and let me tell you it has been hell, but each day gets better and better.  The aches and pains are not even close to what they were 2 days ago and I am still feeling really drained.  I was on them for about 3yrs taking 80-120mg.

I finally had enough and went to my doctors and she gave me Clonazepam (helps with the anxiety) and Clonidine(helps with the opiate withdrawals). MInd you I still felt like **** but it took some of the edge off.

Good luck, you can do it!  I never thought I could go a day without those damn little happy pills and now it's been a week and it does feel good getting my life back.  I'm here for you if you need to talk.

Sorry that you are having such a hard time. Have you tried in patient rehab? You may need to do a professional in patient detox to get through this. My son tried self detox, Slow taper from sub doc and left his first in patient. The second in patient did the trick. He was determined and got into a place where they would extend his recovery into a half way house for 2 months. He has been clean from heroin for over 4 years now. You have to keep trying no matter what it takes. You are fighting for your life back. You are on a high dose of a potent opiate. Ct would probably be hard without a taper. I could not taper myself either. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. No one can contact me right now bc my profile is down.
