I think your idea is PERFECT. I recently had to do the SAME THING!!! I was taking a whole months worth in a week! So I finally gave them to my fiance, who had to hide them on me! It definately worked!!
Good Luck! You did it once...do it again! You do not want to get your body hooked...the withdrawals are absolute HELL!
I am going thru them...and you feel like you are going to die.
Do the right thing before it is too late!
Good Luck!!

oh yea i tell my mom everything we are very very close and she knows all about this and i am actually going to try to not take them as prescribed(in the good way less than prescribed) only when i absolutely need them which isnt every day my big thing is after 10 days of being clean and right now dealing with the pain is not fun i cant do much of anything when it gets bad besides just sit around and do nothing. My big question is that if i do take them after these ten days like im talking about not every day will i have withdrawals again from even the small amount just because i have been taking them for this for a little while
Have you spoken to them what they are going to use for alternative pain relief once you are off ? then the next best option is to be honest with your mother and to tell her she can only give to you as prescribed.. she will need to keep them where you can not find them and be able to say no when it is to early.. follow along with your Dr.s advice with the help of your mom. you can do this. and I'm very sorry but soon you will be enjoying your hobbies again..
that is the part that makes this harder than it was last time with the fusion taking 4 months to fully fuse the bones toghether i still have about 2 months left until the 4 months is here. But until the surgeon tells me it is fully fused i cant do any kind of exercising or my hobbies that helped me so much last time that i cannot do until then which i love to golf and fish and havent been able to do either for two months. On top of that i cannot take any kind of motrin or aleve or any of that because they said it will make the fusion take a lot longer because it thins my blood and can cause the area around the fusion to bleed and actually pull the bone they put in there for the fusion to pull out and i would have to get the surgery again and tylenol itself doesnt help the pain when it get bad.
Hello abritt.. to be honest it sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.. I also live with chronic pain my worst the 16 screws and 3 plates in my foot but recently I had a shoulder replaced.. I had quit the meds 3 weeks after having it done. I had a lil more pain but nothing I could not deal with.. by day 10 you should be about over the worst of the wd I like you had a script waiting when I first quit over a year ago almost 2 and I would cave each time not until I canceled the script got honest with my Dr. that I was addicted and did not want them prescribed did I really begin my recovery.. They are already weaning you off. you will receive a lot of respect when you go in and say you just decided to get it over with as you felt it was becoming a problem.. Motrin 800 does work well for pain.. more importantly try to exercise with the permission of physical therapy your Dr. as strengthening your back will be the greatest benefit. Be kind to yourself ok and congrats on your clean time :) lesa
