Five days is great.  If you can give yourself another 2 days...you will feel better.  There are some things you can do to help.  Imodium is you are having tummy/trot problems.  Gatorade to keep hydrated.  Food to keep the energy up.  I had to remind myself to eat.  It seemed to help.  Treat the symptoms.  OTC meds for flu like symptoms....benadryl helps with that and some say it helps with sleep.

You will start to feel better from now on. The fatigue, chills, basically flu-like symptoms, will get better and better. Taking more percs will just get you back to where you were 5 days ago. The things that Minn suggested are good.
Hot bath or shower, mild exercise, and DISTRACTIONS. TV, movies, reading, anything to keep your mind occupied. The absolute worst thing to do is sit and think! Our brains are not getting something they have come to depend on and the body has stopped producing what we normally have to take it's place. it takes time for our systems to heal and begin to function again, but they do and it's so very worth the the struggle to get there. Be kind to yourself, stay occupied and don't take anything!!  Take care and keep posting here. It helps me immensely to interact with others who are struggling with the same disease i am.

As for the mental, distract your mind. Watch some funny movies, shows, and comedians. Laughing really does help. I know it is hard to concentrate at first, but gradually you'll find that you are getting involved in whatever you're watching and you'll have moments when you forget the misery and laugh. Humor has gotten me through many a rough day. I also read inspirational books, stories, and quotes. Helps get that positive thinking going. Again, any moving around you can. Do some household chores, taking a break as needed. Breaking each chore down into smaller tasks helps and by the end of the day you've gotten a load of laundry done and the dishes done.

Hang in there, you can do it!

I am really sorry you do not feel well and hurt.  I can relate, many times I went back for that script because I have legit issues.  If you want to be free, and get to the other side of that rebound pain (which is usually worse then what is "normal" pain for us), then you have to quit the doc and cut off supply.  Sorry if that's harsh, but it's the only way you can get healthy.  Flush the pills and save your clean time.  You can do it!

You got a new prescription after you stopped? If so, get rid of them quick and keep letting your body heal, don't throw the 5 days away on any more pills or you'll just have to start all over again soon. Just do it now, don't think about it, destroy them or they will keep destroying you, it's your life and you must choose freedom over chemical slavery...

Hi and glad you posted. Yes, you started your own thread. :) I post from my phone, too, so I know it can be a little awkward.

Please do not take any of those pills! You have made it this far, and I believe deep down you don't want to go through that again. Flush them! You should be through the worst of the physical withdrawal soon. Get up and walk around the block or just around the house. Take a hot shower or soak in Epsom salts. Drink herbal teas, like Sleepytime with honey, lemon, and a peppermint stick to relax in the evening. TheraFlu daytime and nighttime for aches and pains. Just be careful about mixing different types of OTC medicines because they could interact with each other. Take a good multivitamin and B Complex, along with calcium, magnesium, and zinc.. Check out the Thomas recipe on this site for a list of supplements.

You can do this! You have made it too far to go back now!

If u really want to quit then now's the time! You've made it threw the worse part of the physical & from here on out it's all mental!! I had the same experience as u, on my day 6 clean i went to pick up a script for my hubby ( honestly not knowing & thinking it was something else) until we got home & i asked why he got 2 scripts only to see his Dr refilled his hydro's ( or i'll say mine since he rarely takes them) I gave the pills to him & told him to just get them away & i haven't looked for them since. If u do want to quit ur in the right place for support. I also noticed while on the pills & the first 2 weeks after getting off i was in pain but week 3 i'm taking ZERO for pain cause i'am not having it!! I hope this helps & I wish u the best. Stacy
