you will have to see if there is a state runned programs .I think alot of states have them but i don't know how long if they do have one it would take to get him in the wait list is usually pretty long
Hi Hun,
Avisg is spot on. Most of the treatment centers (rehabs) have what is called an "indigent" program. That is by no means an insult. It is simply a program for those who do not have insurance but need the help. For example, when I was in treatment I was in with a Pharmacist. He was a person who at one time had the money but had lost everything through his addiction. He was accepted into the program. I saw many others since then also accepted for one reason or another. Often it is a state program or a federal program. You will need to do the foot work to find them but they are there.
Okay, I am rambling. You can do a google search of treatment centers in your area. You can use your local phone book to find what assistance is available in your area. It is difficult for us to help you in your particular state since we are international here in this community.
Best of luck to you mom and it is wonderful that you want to help. If you need anything additional please post here and let us know. there is always someone where that can help you in one way or another.
You and your family are in my prayers.
he's not a vet, is he?
CATUF
as catuf mentioned..if there r vet benefits he can use them and possibly get the help he needs
there r also places who have spots for cases without money...it may take some googling but there r religious orginazations who acccept "no-pay" out there..but u gotta find them..often talking to the person at the phone number u google can lead u in the right direction even if they themselves can not help u
as a resort until u get aplace to take him inptient//meetings r free and evreywhere...not the same as inpatient..but a heck of alot better than nuttin...and meetings/true support can often be all aperson needs..as long as they keep on going cos this disease never goes away...even if he is accepted inpatient//he needs to find a meeting in the area where he feels comfy..may take 12 or more meetings...but u learn at each even tho it is not the group for u...for now/until u solve the inpatient problem...meetings r where he needs to be...and stay
