I just thought I'd pass on this bit of info for I, too, have a soft spot for fur. The APAP *or tylenol* in our vics is poisionous to a dog. I wouldn't want anyone to give their dog a pill with the intent of making it comfortable if in pain only to inadvertently poison it.
Just an FYI and a great story btw

i never thought about hitting my dogs stash when i was out. hummm a thought..lol.. me and someone was chating today about it and we were laughing about having to do a pill count, and such.. it was so funny. iam hoping i can drive tomarrow if not hubby will have to come and take him to the vet.. humm wonder what my dog will come home with...lol
They actually give vicodin to dogs too. They gave it to my dog when she had a cough. She was on three meds at the time and when I saw Hydrocodone 5mg. I thought ......no way.......well, the worst happened and because of all the meds she accidently got a double dose.......it was scary......had to take her in and the doc took the vic's away saying that she was given a narcotic and she suspected this may have happened. If I would have known it was really hydrocodone at the time......I probably would have taken them myself.......is that shameful or what.....Yeiks.........never thought I'd be sharing that story.......
OMG, you took your dogs meds. You're too funny.
I had a husky for 13 years she was so afraid of storms that we had to give her something she would chew through a door to get inside if she heard thunder. Whatever we gave her would make her pee on herself so it knocked her out. She also hated our pool cleaner and would go crazy when it was running she would hide and cry this horrible sound if she was left outside with it. Poor old girl
LOL Just be careful with those doggie pain pills or your dog may end up being the first canine to be posting on this forum.
I used to have a 185 pd. Great Pyreness that would freak out during thunder storms, which in Florida in the summer is always. He would get in the bed at night and gouge at my head with his giant paws for as long as the storm went on. So the Vet gave me Valium for him. But they had no effect on him and I was afraid to give him to many. So , since they didn't work on him........well, they worked on me just fine. One of the dogs I have now was traumatized by Huricane Charlie. Again , dog with storm issues. Vet gave me a bottle of some kind of tranquilizer for her. By the time they would take effect on her the storm would be gone, but they were the best sleeping pill I have ever had. Have no idea what they were. I don't take pain pills or dog pills anymore. LOL
i dont know what i would do without my babies, nothing like a jump on your lap and just lay down. they know when i dont feel good, they dont ask for much, and bring countless smiles and laughes for me.. i have 2 begaels bo and mocha..

Animals are better than most people I love my dogs and cats. They are the best. My kids drive me crazy but my furbabies don't ask for much:-)
