Hi sweety
You sound so sincere and determined.   You are doing the right thing by being totally honest with your OB.  Just tell him everything you told us.  If you have trouble talking to him, write it down before you go and let him read it or read it to him.
It's very important for him to realize that you can't stick to a taper.  You need somebody to hold the pills for you or if possible go to in-treatment where they can taper you off.
All this worrying isn't good for you so let your doctor worry about it and insist that he helps you.

Please keep us posted and let us know how you make out and try not to worry.

Everyone sees what you write. Please do come back. This is a great place if you are wanting to quit. Lots of knowledgeable, supportive, and loving folks. Maybe you can discuss treatment options with your dr. on Wednesday. They might be able to suggest counseling, or outpatient programs for you. Get some rest and we will see you tomorrow.

Everyone can read what you or anyone else writes on this post. However, if you want to talk with someone privately, you can send them a private message. Just go to your Medhelp page, and then to messages. Let me know if you need additional help.

ariley, did everyone get to read what I wrote to you or does that just send to you? Its late for me but tomorrow I will let everyone know what is going on with me instead of bits and pieces. I apologize for not doing so. thank you all so much for being here for me. I need all the support I can get for this is going to be a very difficult but big step for me. I have been on them for so long that I forgot how to live without them and how is that going to affect my chronic conditions. I am not one to go to meetings and support groups for I have social anxiety but I am up for treatment outpatient or whatever it takes. Take care and god bless.

Telling your OB everything, is the right thing. Be absolute honest! It's critical! Try not to stress yourself out too much. Please let us know how it goes with your OB. You will get lots of support here! I wish you all the best!  When are you due? First baby? Boy or girl? :)

before the Ob changed my dose I was prescribed 30mg every 4 hours, Now I am suppose to be taking 15mg twice a day which isn't enough to cover my chronic pain so I ended up going back to the 30mg every 4 hours which is like 4 in a day. I plan on telling her wed when I see her to see what my options are. I went to youtube and watched a video of babies going through withdrawals and it broke my heart. I am very depressed and falling apart for I don't have much time left im 31 weeks pregnant and I want off them and I want to be the best mother this little man can have. right now I am desperate to fix this.

Good for you for being honest. I think that going in there Wednesday and laying it all out on the line is your only option. Please stick around. This can be a great place to get support. Please keep us updated and take care.

my OB knows everything, it is important that she knows what is going on with me, we started to do a slow taper but im to weak and end up taking more than what was prescribed. then when I run out I take tramadol to help with the withdrawal symptoms until my next fill date. it is an never ending battle that I am so tired of. if I wasn't pregnant I would detox myself but I cant cause of my baby and I am so worried about him going through withdrawals its breaking my heart. I have been on prescription pain meds for years due to a back injury and hereditary disease. my OB was worried that if I quit taking the meds I would be miserable and not be able to care for myself and baby, so we decided to taper down to the lowest dose possible and keep me comfortable without hurting the baby. As I said before it didn't work. I see her wed and plan on telling her that it didn't work again and I am taking to much to see what my options are. I am getting very depressed due to all this I don't want to see my baby suffer cause of my problems its not fair. I need support and a lot of it to know I am not alone in this and I want more than anything to do the right thing.

An honest answer is: Yes. Too much Oxy can hurt an unborn baby. It can cause opiate dependency, low birth weight, premature birth, failure to thrive, lack of oxygen...

How much are you using now?

Hi there and welcome to the forum! Could you be a little more specific? What do you mean by too much oxycodone? Are you being prescribed this by a doctor? Does your OB know you are taking it? If you can give us a little more info we can give you better advice and support. Ariley gave you some great advice. Take care and keep posting.

It really depends on the amount you are taking. I can tell you that quitting cold turkey when you are addicted and pregnant can cause harm to your baby. This is something you really need to be honest about with your OB. I know it's really scary, but honesty is the best policy in this situation. If you try to hide the fact you are using, it will only look bad and you run the risk of losing your baby. Your OB can help you do what's best for you and your unborn child, whether that be a slow taper, or continuing to use until after baby is born. Please consider telling your OB and please take care of you and baby.
