fighting the P-I-G

hi ppl, just wanted to say- been clean now for  a few month its not been a walk in the park but i have learnt to recognise my old behaviour patterns- i say old  they are still there but i can head them off now - for e.g i could be having an average day (before addiction) then walk down the street and get an idea in my head lets just say the idea was to go for a pint!  i could of tried to fight it but within the hour id be in the pub. thats what i am like. i dont know where it comes from though.i call it the P-I-G personal instant gratification. i have always been impulsive but looking back it was extreme- any how yesterday i was driving about realised i was on my own with money in my pocket and could score!!!   for the first time in my life i BEAT the P-I-G i ignored it and the thought eventually went away- i am well proud of myself thats why i wanted to share with you's. is anyone else like me? constantly over thinking and self analysing......

I believe that once you get some time, you realize you can do this..before we acted on what we didnt believe..caved in.  I also believe that God is no less responsible for your hope.  I love hearing stories like this..we can change.  :)

Nice post and so true to me. Congrats on all that clean time and for fighting through those tough moments. As time goes by and we get stronger, we are able to fight harder and change those patterns of behaviour and dumb thoughts. You should be proud of yourself, it's those times and getting through them that make us stronger in this fight. Well done man:)

YES! constantly,I drive myself crazy but am trying to learn to focus that energy elsewhere,but it is oh so hard,good for you on beating the P.I.G. I love that name for it  by the way
