Quitting

Hello Forum, I am new here.  I've read many of your posts and they have been very helpful.  I've had a shoulder surgery, two knee surgery's and most recently, 17 months ago, I had a Total Hip Replacement.   I've been taking Hydrocodine 10/325 pretty much everyday since.  I'm very active physically at my 15 hour a day job and I still have legitimate pain, but I know it's time to stop taking these pills...I take 9 to10 a day.  I guess what I'm asking is, how long should my detox last?  and what should I expect?  I really appreciate ANY advice.  Thanks so much.  Ready to be clean!

Thanks for the advice.  I'm going to see my Doctor tomorrow and explain my situation.  We have a close relationship, so I don't have a problem being honest with her.
Cheers.

Hi & Welcome,

If you want to ease your physical withdrawal symptoms you could explain to your doctor that you feel it is time to get off of the pills and ask him for a proper taper plan. If you decide to go cold turkey you will have the withdrawal usually around a week so if you can take time off from work you could do it that way. It's your choice. Either way you came to a good place for support. Hang around.
