i need help

so im addicted to oxycottin and loratabs or pretty much any pain killer i can get my hands on. i use everyday just to be able to function. im deathly afraid of going thru withdrawls and i need help. my girlfriend is on the verge of leaving me and that will kill me. so i need to quit and im just looking for any ideas on how to make this withdrawl process just a little easier. ive detoxed plenty of times before and end up cracking and going to get something. my biggest problem i have during detox is the runs and lack of being able to sleep and nothing i take or do helps with that so if anybody out there may have ideas please help my life needs this!!!!!!!!

Hi. I am 16 days clean today using the Thomas recipe. Maybe your girlfriend will stay by you during the first few days. Sudie is right. You have to want to do it and envision and embrace a future that doesn't include painkillers. Being only 16 days, I'm not a veteran yet like some on here, but I've made it this far and each day is better than the one before and with each day I complete, I feel more proud of myself. Others on here have done it which inspires me to keep going. I also see a behavioral therapist who helps me to retrain my thinking away from lortabs...hot baths, Thomas recipe, find something more important than your painkillers, find support. I hope this is a little help.

hi and welcome, you can do this, i did and lots of others on here, you must really want it, and do it for yourself, there are things to help you along the way, its good to prepare yourself, set a time and get on with it, you may also need some help from NA  or a DR.or some counseling, the more prepared you are the more chance you have of getting clean.   if you go to the health pages on here you can find the thomas recipe, it will be a great help to you during the physical withdrawals, sometimes the fear of withdrawals makes it worse, but you can do it, keep posting on here and we can help you through it, by day 5/6 the worst will be over, god bless ,   sudie
