I have never taken methadone, but I did have a big problem with taking opiate painkillers, mainly vicodin. I think the best thing to do is first decide if u are ready to completely stop, including the methadone, since that is an opiate (i think). If u are, I would prepare yourself for w/ds. You may or may not get any, but even if u do, it won't last very long, and in the long run, I promise you it is much better being off these pills. I was buying mine off the street and was spending crazy amounts of money too. It's just not worth it, and it will only get worse as tolerance increases. Do you want to let the methadone go at this point?
One of the things we recommend here is to cut off all ties with your supplier. Makes it to easy to keep using. Why the methadone?
the moderators probably deleted most of your post if it was too descriptive. The pills are just a temporary fix and yes they can rob you of everything money, relationships, your health and your life. Self medicationg isn't the answer. After awhile opiates actually can cause more pain. It is a condition called hyperalagesia. Exercise helps. strengthen your abdominal muscles to help suppport your back. Lidocaine patches, hot baths with epsom salts.
Haven't been on tabs for 3 or 4 months, I took them for months, and I've been self medicating. I have no insurance and a bad back, and I do tree work and its extremely hard on ur body. So I've always had to buy mine off the street. That money adds up too. One of the main reasons my wife left me.
When did you quit the lortabs? Are you self medicating with the methadone or did you get this from a doctor?
Well it just bleeped out everything I said. But u got the point I hope. But yeah I was takin loratabs before the dones, but those withdrawels were nothing.
Hi. We don't know if you will have any additional withdrawal symptoms. You could have set yourself back abit. Don't take anymore ok? Get rid of any methadone you have. Cut off your supply. You are just prolonging the withdrawal if you continue to use. The thomas recipe is listed on the bottom right of this page under the health pages. There is no magic bullet to get through detox, time is it. Be patient. Don't worry about tomorrow, get through today. Keep yourself busy, exercise, you will heal.
Were you taking anything before you started with the methadone?
Be patient. Take deep breathes. You will get through this. Recovery is a marathon not a sprint. Walk the recovery road one day at a time
Sending hope,support,preayers and peace
