is klonopin as addictive as xanax

I'm using klonopin to help me sleep while coming off methadone and narco.  In the past when I've taken it, it doesn't do much for me.  I'm not an anxious person.  I'm worried I will have more withdrawals from that if I ever make it through what I'm going through now.  How much can a person take?  And how can anyone go  back and start this cycle over after going through pure hell.  Rat's learn, why can't we.  I know the answer to the last question, I think.  I was on meds for pain, but have had surgery and am better.  I never did anything illegal or anything, but I did take more than I should have to ease other pains.  So I guess I am an addict, like it or not.  Thanks for listening.

if you only took 90 clonapine over a month time your probably going to only have anxiety and sleep issues no if you took them over 90 days your withdrawal will be a bit more sever and require a taper to bring you off it more of how long you been on them with benzos a month = minor withdrawals 3 mo= major withdawals and a doctor required taper plan so how long have you been taking them??? and it is very uncomfortable coming off them let us know how long you where on them.......Gnarly

Klonopin  is a benzodiazepine just the same as xanax, and just as addicting. It's also a long acting one, one of the longest on the market with a half life between 18–50 hrs. It has a fast onset as well.
Treatments lasting longer than four weeks risk developing a dependence on the drug and can experience  withdrawal syndrome upon dose reduction. High dosage and long term use increases the risk and severity of dependence and withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal seizures and psychosis can occur in severe cases of withdrawal and anxiety and insomnia in less severe cases of withdrawal. Gradual reduction in dosage reduces the severity of the benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome.

I'd rather use natural remedies like Amino acid supplements, diet and vitamins to get my neurotransmitters back up to par instead. You are going to have to do that anyways when you stop the Klonopin, so you are just prolonging the inevitable, because benzo's mess with your neurotransmitters as well.

Congrats on getting off the norco and methadone. Check into one on one counseling and a support group na/aa.
The sleep will take awhile to return.you didn't become an addict in a few weeks and it will take longer than a few weeks for all your brain chemistry to produce again. Hence the sleeping issues.
There are otc natural sleep aids. Alteril.sleep by nature made. Drink sleeping time tea.
You are detoxing and trying to cleanse your body.please stop using other pills they are just adding to the toxins already in your body. Drink plenty of fluids and exercise as much as possible.
Keep on keeping on

Ya know, it's probably not any single thing, but probably the combo.  Sleeping and energy are the absolute last things for almost everyone to get back.  Try to get a little exercise.  That will help both things.  Take super b complex vitamin.  It's an energy boosting vitamin.  The rest just takes time.  I know that is not what you want to hear! : (

Ok, this brings up another question.  Originally the doctor gave me 90 klonopin.  I used it all and didn't think another thing of it.  What kind of withdrawals do you get from coming off of it?  My biggest thing right now is energy and getting air in my lungs.   Plus sleeping is hard.  Ambian doesn't work anymore.  Could I be past the worst of the narco, methadone stuff and be feeling wd's from stopping the klonopin?

Yea, when we abuse meds, we are addicts. Sometimes not easy to admit. Not sure if your still coming off narco and meth but like tramahater says, Klon is addictive and why add another med you will need to detox from.
You can do this!

Klonopin is addictive.  It's just different than xanax.  It's longer acting.  My opinion...I wouldn't take it a day longer than I had to!  Benzos are NOT cool to come off of if you're on them very long!  Congrats on getting of the opiates!  You'll be glad you did!
