jerking legs

My husband is WD from codiene and some morphine sulfate(15mg..unknown how many tablets). He is doing excellant as he has been taking pain medication for his back for 20 years. The withdraws are not as bad as I expected but his legs are now jerking and they hurt. Is there anything he an take or do to ease this and how long does it last?

Sorry to butt in, I know you did not ask an "expert" but I saw you post and it has an easy solution. If you have a private physician you can confide in, you can ask for a prescription of Requip. It is wonderful for "restless legs" patients gets get after withdrawal.  We use it in our clinic to minimize and then treat residual symptoms. It is one of those pesky once that remain for a few days after detox, even though patients feel great otherwise.

hi and welcome, your husband is doing well ,after being on the meds after so long, hot baths with epsom salts in will help his restless legs, also eating bananas, and drinking tonic water, its the potassium and quinine in them that helps, you can get some hylands restful legs remedy from walgreen/walmart,  also make sure he drinks plenty of fluids such as gatorade, or juices, take care and god bless.
