lexapro and oxycotin

My sister is here with me unable to sleep  for three weeks now since stopping lexapro.  she has severe back pain and is on oxytocin 120 twice daily and has been for years.  she is beside herself with insomnia and just recently has started having nightmares really vividly almost immediately on getting to sleep.  she no longer feels safe in her home so i think her paranioa levels are way up.  any advice out there - could this be caused by the withdrawal from the lexapro??

thanks for your responses.  my sister has been on 20mg per day lexapro and stopped cold turkey.  why she has been put on such a huge dose - apparently lower doses didnt work and she has been on 240 mg for five years now.  who does one go and see about this sort of thing because i fear psychosis for her.  she no longer feels safe in her house and has also developed agrophobia.  her GP doesnt seem to do much other than prescribe further drugs.  should she see a psychologist ?  or psychiatrist? yours in confusion.  also how long should withdrawal sympyoms last - she stopped lexapro a mnonth ago.

I have to ask why was your daughter prescribed oxys for severe back pain. Its such a strong med, usually used for cancer, etc.

It very well could be lexapro withdrawals. All antidepressants are suggested to be weened down over a course of weeks, not stopped cold turkey. What dosages was she on? Did she taper down or just stop?
