marijuana during pregnancy

I'm always wondering if I may be pregnant. If so I would be 3 weeks now. I've researched and found a forum about smoking marijuana during the first trimester. They say it's not bad for your child. It could just be my addiction looking for excuses. Please doctor, what are the dangers I could be in if I am in fact pregnant and smoking about a join per day for the past week?

Yes I took a pregnancy test 2 days ago, 3 actually. I am 4 weeks and 2 days.

Actually, it's like a miracle I've recently haven't been craving any more marijuana at all. I think it's because the baby doesn't like it so I don't like it anymore.I haven't smoked for 2 weeks now. I am so happy.

Smoking pot as you know, slows everything possible down in your body, it affects the chemicals in your brain, it slows your reaction, it has been studied and shows long term use to be very harmful and has been said one of the hardest drugs to get off and the one with the most long term affect on ones body.

I cant imagine one single doctor condoning any person let alone a pregnant mother to use marijuana and tell them its ok. That is just wrong on every level.  It may relax you, but I guarantee, the baby will not be feeling the same way.  I really advise you to try another option with a diff doctor, and really hope all works out for you.

I'm not condoning any type of drug use during pregnancy but I will say when I was pregnant with my first child I was extremely sick with "morning sickness" I was in and out of the hospital nonstop. My ob dr finally told me to try smoking a little bit of weed for the naseua   Meaning not to smoke it to get high just to help the sickness. Which thankfully my sickness stopped before I had to try it. But I doubt my dr would tell me to if it was going to cause problems with my pregnancy. I will say it was def not her first choice in telling me.
